Piston Rings?

I was decarbonizing my piston and took off the rings while cleaning it. Do i need to replace the rings with new ones once i take them off or is it fine to put them back on?

Smoking and oil

Can putting a scooter on it's side with oil in the tank cause oil to get into the crankcase? I got a friends Spree that was laying down in his garage for a bit and it is really smokey when running and when i pull the sparkplug it is pretty oily. Would this be caused by oil in the crankcase? Also, ho...

bent fork

i have a 1984 aero 50 that has a bent fork. been looking for a while to find a replacement good fork but no luck as the fork is specific to the 1984 aero only. Is it wise to try and bend back the forks or is it better to just replace them? Think a repair shop would do this for me?

DMV purges the records of vehicles that havn't had any activity for like 7 years or so. They still have registration information if it was ever registered. If it was never registered and the title was purged from the system, go in and apply for an original title stating that you are the original owner

hey thanks for the info. Do you have to get a different cylinder head when putting in a domed piston as opposed to the stock dished piston? I didnt think you had to as i remembered reading a while back that people would put '84/'85 spree heads on there '86/'87 cylinders to get a little more compress...

I know that the regular honda gyros use the same front end parts as the sprees, but does anyone know if this is also true about the Gyro S model? Also what about the front...

i remember reading on a site about gyros that most of the parts are only specific to the gyro. But I also remember it saying that the 1984 model had a dished piston so it would have lower compression and top speed. The guy said that an elite 50 high compression piston and ring set would fit the gyro...

my carb is leaking. very slowly when in idle but when i rev it it increases, and im sure it leaks even more when in full throttle. Seems a lot of leakage is around the base of the airfilter tube. Could this be a bad gasket? I took the carb apart last week and the float seemed to be working correctly

Honda Elite 80

I got an Elite 80 that im looking at tomorrow. Anybody know if it will fit in the back of a subaru wagon? (laid down on it's side of course). I've fit sprees and aeros in the back of it before relatively easy, don't know if an elite 80 will fit though. Any one know?

i have the same problem with gas mileage too. I've checked the needle setting (was set running rich), main jet, and cleaned the air filter, but it really didn't have much affect on the mpg. cylinder and exhaust port are free of carbon deposits. What do i check next?

tested compression was fine at 110 psi. I decided to open it up and take a look at the rings. rings were fine and put in place correcty. While replacing the base gasket though, i noticed some scratching and a few small gouges on the base gasket surface of the crankcase. (probably from me...............

oops, i put a standard size honed cyliner on it, not the rebored one, i was a little tired when i was posting this. I corrected my post above, i bought a honed standard size cylinder. could a honed cylinder produce less compression?
