Sure you are drawing enough current with the LED's? I had some issues with LED's on my '87 Elite 50; I used some LED running lights for front blinkers.

Can't you lean the engine out too much by trying to achieve the highest RPM's with the air screw?

Maybe, if they're nice enough at the shop, they'll take a look at it, and tell you if you just need to pack it with grease.
