Runs bad after long rides-spark plug? Dirt in tank?
I've cleaned the carb on my SB50P several times and have had it running well, then I'll go on a long, higher speed ride with no issues. Then the next time I go to start it, it runs like crap. Usually the idle and just off idle is the worst. This last time is was running the best it has ever run, ple...

I was surfing and found a VIN listing for Honda scooters and they had the 87 Aero listed as AF09E, was there anything special about that motor or just a typo? My second question would be about the transmissions, I assume all the AF05E trannys are like mine, the AF16E are adjustable but what about th...

87-93 Elite, That's what I have now, an 88. The transmission isn't adjustable and there doesn't seem to be speed parts available because of this. Currently mine runs about 37 mph on a flat, can pull me (200 lbs) up a hill at 30, but is real slow off the line. I can handle the slow accel, but need mo...

85stroka- thanks for the advice, now comes more questions. Are you saying for the aero engine it needs to be an 87 as well or just the elite? Also how could I tell the year of the scooter if it's just a pile of parts in the yard? Is the assembly date stamped on the frame somewhere or do I need a VIN...

I'm not too worried about se50 grabbing up one of the elite 80s, they had at leat two if not a third. Plus if someone else tries the swap before me and decides it's not worth doing, then I've saved some time and $. I didn't know the 80cc was a four stroke, not much gain there from a 50cc 2 stroke. T...

I'll tell you after someone answers my question, I don't want you getting to the 80cc first. Seriously though, there is a scrap yard called sport wheels that's halfway between Shakopee and Jordan on hwy 169, SW of the cities. They aren't very organized and have a lot of old junk. I'll have to ask wh...

Easy motor swaps for SB50P?
I've got an 88 elite e that runs ok, but I'd like to mod it for more power. Everything that I've read makes it sound like my motor/trans isn't worth modding. Are there any easy motor or transmission swaps that are adjustable and worth modding? I live fairly close to a bike scrap yard and saw a coupl...
