Re: No vacuum?
That is what a compression test is? :P . Had I known that I would have done that a long time ago. I think I have a tester actually lying around in one of these tool boxes. *Update* So I didn't have one, but I picked one up from autozone as a loaner that was brand new with the plastic still on it. So...

Re: 1984 NB50B?
Ok I think I am going to have to steal this thread for a moment to ask the obvious dumb question. What is a Dio?

Re: No vacuum?
Maybe I did not prefill the bowl enough.
I have searched the site, and have not been able to find step by step how to do a compression test without the motor running. Honestly hook a compression gauge to the cylinder means nothing to me.
Onto the next one how would I diagnose bad crank seals?

Re: Drive Train is this stock?
Good call Bear . I was having some thoughts that was what it might be (a broken clock is right twice a day you know), but I wasn't sure. I will definitely take a look at that when I get the bike out again to work on it again.

No vacuum?
First thank you to everyone who has helped me so far, hopefully this is the last question I have before I get my spree running again  . At this point I have assembled everything after cleaning it, along with putting on new seals, grease and spark plug. However now I cannot get the engine to pu...

Re: Drive Train is this stock?
Oh cool, I can get ahold of that tomorrow. One other question, I have noticed it mentioned a couple of times and in the tech docs that '86 and later came with a kick start. My bike clearly says 1986 above the front tire, but I don't even see a spot for a kick start. Any thoughts?

Drive Train is this stock?
So the more I take my spree apart the more i am finding that seems to not be stock. I know the belt is supposed to have teeth but with my setup there isn't anywhere for a toothed belt to go. I have a very strong feeling this isn't stock and I was wondering what the opinion is on the setup. http://im...

Re: Breaking down question.
Yeah the air filter was my first thought as well from reading the thread when all this happened. however when I examined the filter it was all still in one piece looking a little dingy so I cleaned that and now it looks brand new. I guess a new question is the filter supposed to look like the green ...

Breaking down question.
So on sunday I took my spree out for a drive. When it started up it seemed to be firing odd, like if you started your lawnmower and switched it from choke to quickly. I just figured it was warming up so I thought nothing of it. Well about 3 miles into my journey I heard some odd noises, nothing I co...

Re: My new Honda Spree
Yes that is the air mixture screw that is missing. I have read on here that you can run without the bystarter hooked up, you just need to adjust and assume it will always be in the 'rich' position. Here is a link that shows the disassembly of the carb and all the little parts in there. http://www.ho...

Re: Extra carb spring
*Edit*
Thanks for the help I found where the mystery screw went. Always feels better when you don't have extra pieces at the end of re-assembly.

Reed valve seat stuck
So long story short my spree quit on me and I am trying to figure out what is wrong. Right now I have the carb off and cleaned, so I decided with the carb off I might as well take a look at the reeds. However it seems that seat valve is sealed via a caulking in place. Is this normal? If it isn't any...
