Re: Help me fix mechanics mistakes

The first time the piston clip broke and did a number on my piston and cylinder so I decided to get the 44mm bbk. While installing said kit I dropped one of the clips into the case and then it sat until it went to the mechanic. I told said mechanic that he needed to crack the engine case to get the ...

Re: Help me fix mechanics mistakes

The 44mm I believe, whichever one came out first. When I bought it about a year ago it was the only one out and taz had not made the gears yet.

Help me fix mechanics mistakes

So last year my spree broke and I didn't have time to fix it. Eventually my grandfather offered to have it fixed for me. After getting it back "fixed" it sounds like a small motorcycle and can't hit 25. I don't even know where to begin or what is going on. It has a taz bbk and uses premixe...

Re: spree acceleration

That seems to be the normal consensus. When mine was still running, from 0-15 I could have probably beaten a stock spree on my normal bike. Your 0-15 comment is probably true with mine. My Yamaha Razz could smoke my spree. Hmmmm wonder if the razz engine and tranny could swap into the spree? The ra...

Re: nq50 86 Spree wont start?

I know you said you just replaced the rings, but what is the compression looking like? Also have you taken a look at the reeds, I hear if they are jammed way open it isn't going to start.

It is all good Bear, I figured it was just a simple mistake of reading to fast. I pointed out what was going on so could pwn the newb correctly.

Re: Big Bore Woes-Seizure before it even started

Bear you seem to be getting gatfu and myself confused. I am the one who admitted something wrong with the rotating assembly. I am the one who started this topic and have said nothing about higher compression. Gatfu on the other hand has been the one going on about higher compression.

Re: Big Bore Woes-Seizure before it even started

Yes I do mean abnormal friction and by abnormal friction I mean 'oh my god what is going on in there' and it scares me to turn it over more than has been necessary. Yeah There is reason to believe that there as been abnormal force, remember yesterday with all the trouble I was having with the flywhe...

Re: Big Bore Woes-Seizure before it even started

Well I took apart my top end and found out something is going on with the crankshaft. I figure if it was to do with the cylinder, with it off there shouldn't be any turning problems, but unfortunately there still are. Yey, I guess my engine figured I took brought everything else up to spec I might a...

Big Bore Woes-Seizure before it even started

So as you can guess from my title I got everything back together. I was meticulous when I put it back together to make sure the rings were in the proper alignment. I also oiled the * out of the piston and the cylinder. However on the second cranking to try and get it to start I thought the battery h...

Re: exhaust port cleaning

Why don't you want to take the engine off? If you have the exhaust off, it is just another two bolts, the tire and the brake line to have it off. Seems to me like that would be easier than trying to finagle your way to the exhaust port with the engine still on.

Re: Piston clip in crankcase.

Thanks guys, I have a harbor freight tool maybe 20 minutes away so I am going to go get that. I called honda-san up thinking heh maybe i can convince the service guy to take the flywheel off for me for few dollars seeing as I have everything off, and all he needs to do is grab the flywheel puller. d...

Re: Piston clip in crankcase.

So I have the nut off now, but like you said the flywheel is being a bugger. I can't get the thing to wiggle a bit, any ideas as how I can get it off. Unfortunately I called all the shops around here and they all went 'whats a flywheel puller?' :eyeroll: , so I can't find one of those very easily.
