Spree exhaust fit on a 87 elite?

Well, I am still looking for a good alternative to the stock exhaust on a 87 se50p iowa elite. Wasn't sure if the 86 Spree pipe would be an upgrade from the restricted elite, with bolt on compatibility. Have found a couple old pipes on P Bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Spree-NQ50-OEM-Exhaus...

Re: Looking for Exhaust pipe upgrade from stock SE50P

Thanks for compliments, It does have the normal wear and tear for being an 87 with 3500 miles. It's missing a couple of the plastic screw tabs(broke off) and somebody decided to cut a hole in the plastic right next to the carb. (maybe they had to constantly adjust the carb settings?) I have f...

Re: Looking for Exhaust pipe upgrade from stock SE50P

Yeah, I know I shouldn't run it w/o the filter :( I actually was using a super cheap tecumseh paper lawn mower filter with some tape to seal  But I couldn't get it to rev very high at all. So I don't normally run it without anything to protect... Have had this elite 50 for 2yrs. Just slowly fi...

Re: Looking for Exhaust pipe upgrade from stock SE50P

Thanks for the replies, How many mods other than jetting and variator do you think I will need with the Leo pipe? BTW am missing stock airbox, but seems to run fair without it. Just have to clean the carb alot.

Looking for Exhaust pipe upgrade from stock SE50P

Hello, does anyone know where I can get an un-restricted pipe for my 87 se50p? I also need either a new carb setup or #85 jet and best air filter pod? Yeah, I am also planning on ordering from Daywot. (Kelly Variator and Ramp Plate) :)

Re: Need to un-restrict my Iowa SE50P !

The port timing is different on the IOWA model also, so it will never preform quite as well as a standard model. http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r206/Bear-45-70/Scooter/hondascooterporttiming.jpg Thanks Bear. So, I would probably need a motor swap or bore kit to achieve greatness? Engine block s...

Re: Need to un-restrict my Iowa SE50P !

Yeah it sounds like you have a normal SE50... I hope that I got a good deal at 200.00 bones for this Iowa model... besides having to change the fuel * valve and clean the carb about 4 times.. It runs really good, and hauls my 204 lbs. up any hill around these parts :thumbwink: I am confident(...

Re: New (to me) Spree. Engine help needed.

Too bad you can't put it in gear like an old dirt bike...and just roll it backward while in gear... I have seized a couple old dirtbikes and just letting it cool and moving it in gear was enough to get it going again(un stuck)... just got real hot and needed to cool down I guess. maybe try a counter...
