125CC Big Bore Setup

IÔÇÖve decided to build my old scooters engine from the ground up. This is going to be cleaned in and out, new bearings etc... So I decided while rebuilding the sucker I would go as big as possible. So I went out and ordered the following kit off line. Which is 125cc FM Ruima Stroker Bore Kit 55mm w...

Re: Removing Oil Injection Unit. Block of plate or what?

There is one small problem with just removing the pump and covering the hole. It is called "lose of preformance" caused by making the inside of the crankcase bigger, thereby lowering the compression ratio in the crankcase which in turn lowers the compression in the cylinder and also lesse...

Removing Oil Injection Unit. Block of plate or what?

So i'm starting to rebuild my old elite that has been sitting around for sometime. The stock oil injection system still is still attached to the engine. When the engine was running I ran a premix, also the main lines to the oil injection unit were capped off. But i think someone said that someone ma...

Re: Seized Engines Honda Elite Big Bore

IDK if this could have been the issue. But i never took the oil injection unit out of the bike. I just capped off the lines. I saw in another post that VT Cycles sell a block/plug kit. Couldn't find it on the site, any other places to get that part?

Re: Seized Engines Honda Elite Big Bore

by using the oil pump, isn't it set for the stock 50cc size? how do you avoid nukage? by changing out my stock gears would drop the rpms down, but that's it

Re: Seized Engines Honda Elite Big Bore

I was just used that picture from the vendors site to show you guys what the kit looked like. Minus the metal head gasket. Mine didnÔÇÖt have the metal gasket but uses that orange o-ring as you can see in my pics. Also the two shots of the spark plug / head is the same unit, just different angles. A...

BTW my kit was from Char-Mo Here is a link of the kit... http://www.cens.com/cens/html/en/product/product_main_15517.html Now i'm not to sure if this is different or not, but my head uses a rubber like o-ring and didn't come with the metal gasket, only the paper gasket for the lower part of the jug....

Re: Seized Engines Honda Elite Big Bore

Here are some pictures of the damage. The bottom ring is still springy. The top ring still has play on the intake side, but is melted into the exhaust side. =) Head and Plug http://www.n0cturnal-labs.org/junk/pics/elite88/head_plug_01.jpg http://www.n0cturnal-labs.org/junk/pics/elite88/head_plug_02....

Re: New (to me) Spree. Engine help needed.

I'm thinking it's going to need some time for the rings to break in, and then you'll be set. But all in all it was pretty easy to replace the piston and rings. Next time if you see any scoring in the jug, run down to your local parts store and pick up a brakehone hit. Just go home chuck it up in the...

Replacing the Jugs and Pistons are a peace of cake upside down. I'm not to sure what you pre-mix should be. Someone will know that for sure.

Re: New (to me) Spree. Engine help needed.

benH - "and as for the fact that the piston is seized and the starter does nothing to turn it over" When my elite 50cc was stock one day thought I ran out of gas, and later found the rings snapped. Now on my two other engine builds, I had the piston rings seize up. With the last engine tha...
