Definitely buy from Discount Honda Parts...great prices. Here's a tip if you're buying other parts besides gaskets: Run the part # through bikebandit.com's "The Parts Wizard" link: http://www.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/popupwizard~id~70.asp You can use the part wizard to check to see if th...

On the topic of Expresses...I'm close to finishing up my '78 (my wife's actually). I'll post pics when done...'cause it is a polar opposite example of those two that went in the lot. I've scavenged parts on ebay and ended up with a Pal Green body (original bike color), Angel Blue gas tank (from an '...

Gotta sweet (cherry, as they say) '82 for a good price. Doesn't run...but I'll figure it out. Very, very nice seller...tried to get it running...but couldn't. Will be a couple of weeks before I get it going... Just need to spend some time on my '78 Express and Batavus first. Priorities, ya know (plu...

Lot went for:

$2125

Amazing scoots they are. Mint and EXTREMELY low mileage. Lucky, lucky, lucky bidder!

I'm picking up my second Express tomorrow...an '82!

Those put my Express to shame! Just kidding...I like the rust, scrapes and jerry-rigged fuel line. Seat tears rock too!

Anyway, I've been tracking this to see what the auction goes for...it's truly an amazing lot. If they only had the Pal Green version too...it would be a complete '78 set!

Thanks for the input! I would love to have a parts bike...problem is I haven't seen any for sale in TX. Shipping, otherwise, is just too expensive to justify for a parts bike. I ping almost every ebayer I see with a Bat to see if they want to part out the fairings. Strange thing is, many of the fair...

ghack,

2-stroke engines do not, by default, require mixing oil into the gas. As -aL- notes, many scooters (incl. Spree, Elite, Express) use an oil pump to inject the gas into the carb. So in essence, injection lubricates the same way that premix does...just more convenient.

Yeah, choke shouldn't keep you from getting something out of it. I've pulled the bystarter and run it before with my finger over the hole.

Back to the spark...is it possible that the spark is too weak to ignite the mixture?

Not sure what that would mean...worn points, bad coil, cabling, etc???

You did get lucky on craigslist...oh, I've been looking. TO NO AVAIL! Hope this isn't too tacky...but PM me if you're interested in off-loading that spree. Anyway, back to your problem...given your description, I'm suprised to hear you're not getting anything with the starter fluid. What do you mean...

Sounds like you should at least get a few chugs. Compression could be the culprit since the consensus is that it needs to be at least 90psi for ignition. The engine will still "cluck" at a lower psi. Dude, where'd you get a Spree in Austin? I've been on the lookout for awhile but have had ...
