Wanted: Modified Spree Pulley Specs

How much was cut off the pulley? What has your reduction ratio for the belt drive become? What engine speed does your clutch engage at? I'm not averse to buying several pulleys and modding them, but I need to make my Spree run first. I think it's worth figuring up driveline reductions and building a...

Re: has anyone done the pulley mod

i have a number of different pullies, but no measurements. If you ever happen to get bored, I'd be interested in figuring out how much material was removed and what your belt drive ratio became. I'm also thinking that increasing the ratio past 1.8:1 may work decently with Tazland's gears. Heck, the...

Re: Spree-io

Cool. I've been thinking about going down the engine swap path, but I'm really curious to see what can be squeezed out of a Spree first.

BTW, if you eviscerate one of the '87 Sprees, would you consider selling the motor?

Re: Spree-io

I dig the assembled bike! I'm curious, though: Did you have to cut the fenders to fit the motor or was that a styling choice?

Re: The Elite 2010 model.. Tubeless tires??

I would hope Honda's gone tubeless by now. My '87 CH80 Elite is set up to run tubeless.

You could drop a line to the folks at Scoot! Magazine. They recently did road tests and Q&A with Honda-san about this bike.

Re: spree shocks

What is your uncompressed shock length? Measure from eyelet to eyelet.

I got a replacement for my Elite 80 by searching from shock length, which turned out to be 260mm.

Any Other Arizona Riders?

Word on the street is that there's a Spree club in Tucson, but I haven't learned anything else about them. They apparently like to lay low. There is a moped club, Las Tortugas, but their emphasis is on the "classic" moped. Small scooters are tolerated, but they are a bit standoffish about ...

Re: one bolt to carb missing, electric start?

Check the bike for a blown fuse. The taillamp should come on when you switch the key on. Brake light, horn and signals should be operable. Headlight is run off one of the stator coils, so it only lights when the motor is running. If the fuse is good, the rectifier may be bad. I'd also check the batt...

Re: rant of the day - we all need to let off some steam...

Looks like a good place to do some shopping. Once of the clubs I belong to, GGR SC, has a garage where we do the voodoo that we do to our bikes. One of the other members and I have been talking about acquiring a press and a leakdown tester.
