Re: 86 Spree or 88 Elite?

I would be all over that Spree. The Elite could be a shot in the dark, but so could the Spree. If you've got the cash, get both. Thats my way of doing things when i can afford it.

Score, yet another deal to my list.....

Last week i picked up this fellow for the grand sum of $150. The guy i bought it from said the local moped repair guy said it needed a coil. Ended up needing a new piston and rings. So after a $90 trip to the local honda shop, its up and running again. Then i discover i still had the piston and ring...

Re: Sidecars on Scooters

Ive thought about this for my Elite 150 also. I may still build one for it since it would be cool to be able to take the kids out on the scoot.

Re: Getting back into small scooters again.....CH80s this time

Well i sold a few other things this week and paid my dad off yesterday, so now i have my 1993 Elite. The speedometer was unhooked on it, hooked that back up and it works again. Already put 6 more miles on it. Going in a bit to get tags for it. Going to get the title done for the other one too since ...

Got to rant a little.....

Why did Honda have to make it so hard to remove the carb on a CH80? That thing is so close to the rear wheel that you have to remove it to get to one of the bolts, but on top of that to remove the rear wheel you also have to remove the muffler. All for one little 10mm nut. On a lighter note, i got t...

Re: Getting back into small scooters again.....CH80s this time

$400 as of right now. The deal we made was that he funded buying them, then I would fix and sell the '02. He would get his $400 and half of the profit. I feel like the deal has changed since he is telling me to sell the '93, then fix the '02 and sell it too. Going up to his house tomorrow and have a...

Re: Getting back into small scooters again.....CH80s this time

It was running throughout the whole video. That thing is super quite. When we first started it, we were near the generator, had to stick my hand under the muffler to see if it was running or not. Sadly ive got to sell one of them in order to pay back dad, or i would keep both. Maybe if someone buys ...

Re: Getting back into small scooters again.....CH80s this time

The miles on the 1993 are low because the speedometer doesn't work. I think it was laid down when it was new, the speedometer quit and was never fixed. It wasn't rode that much anyway. The tires are oem with the little nipples still on them. The engine and chassis are covered in dust and spider webs...

Re: Getting back into small scooters again.....CH80s this time

Got them yesterday. The 1993 is over at my dads while i work on fixing the 2002 model. The 2002 needs a little more than i thought. Its missing the drive pulley and the starter sounds pretty bad. It also seems to have a oil leak somewhere too. Im going to try get it running later today. Pics!!! http...

Re: Getting back into small scooters again.....CH80s this time

They are both at the local Honda shop. Not 100% sure of the miles on the '93, but it says 1.3 on the speedo. Maybe the speedo was replaced.

Getting back into small scooters again.....CH80s this time

Scoring a nice deal soon on a pair of CH80 Elites. Getting them both for $350. One is a 2001 with 17k on it that needs a drive belt. Even includes the new belt. The other is a 1993 that shows 1.2 miles on it. Its really clean, so it may well be that. Its owners manual is still in the trunk wrapped i...

Re: hardest/strangest thing you have ever carried on a scoot?

Nothing major got hauled on the 50cc bikes, but the bigger ones get large things all the time. I rode 300 miles on my Helix with another Helix engine and reartire on the back seat. Had to buy a small pillow to go between me and it.

My Elite 150 got to carry a 2.5hp Nissan outboard a few times.
