85 Spree Parts ID
I am finishing up the rebuild on my scooter and have 2 plastic body parts that I cannot identify. I am certain that they belong somewhere but cant figure it out and I have been through the 84-87 manual with no luck. Thoughts?

Excess Fuel
Any ideas on why I am getting excess fuel leaking from the air intake? This is a recently rebuilt carb. Bike runs fine but I pulled the air cleaner and noticed that there is fuel on the inside lip of the carb air intake.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: 85 spree carb and 87 aero carb
I also have carb issues and will try to clean one more time before I give up. I plan to carefully clean the primary jet pictured in the first photo. Can you tell me where gas should be exiting when the jet is clean. I have pushed liquid and air thru the openng but see nothing exiting
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Need Carb Help
Thanks, I went thru every nook and cranny to make sure it was spotless. I have checked the bowl and I am getting fuel. Also checked spark and all good. Bike will start and run but only on starting fluid so I know I have air and spark. Could be air leak but I have tightened everything I can think of ...

Need Carb Help
Hello All I am rebuilding an 85 Spree that has been in storage for a few year. Cranks fine and runs for 10 seconds if I use starting fluid. Wont crank without the starting fluid. I recently replaced the throttle cable (thanks to uspmale@yahoo.com) . When I replaced the cable I used the old needle th...

Re: Tube Sizes
Ok thanks, just fyi for the other riders.....I was in the process of buying tubes on line and had to choose between 8mm and 10 mm. I bought 8mm thinking I can add a washer if necessary

Tube Sizes
Hello all...I am buying tires/tubes (2.50x10) for my Spree. The tubes come in 10", 10mm and 8mm. What is the 8mm and 10mm number? I assume it is the valve size but my manual doesn't provide guidance..................thanks

Re: Removing the Jet Needle from the Throttle Valve
Thanks, I had no movement in the cable so I removed and I am soaking in oil now. Let me know how to get in touch with you regarding a cable in case it doesn't free up.......thanks again

Re: Removing the Jet Needle from the Throttle Valve
Thanks, I have been spraying wd40 down both ends so hopefully that will free it up sooner or later. Is it safe to assume that the core of the cable will slide back and forth easily once it frees up? The cable does not currently move at all..........

Re: Removing the Jet Needle from the Throttle Valve
Thanks for your response. I forgot to mention that this is an 85 Spree. I just dont have room between the carb cap and the throttle valve to get anything in there to grab the spring and even if I could there is only a quarter inch to compress the spring.....

Removing the Jet Needle from the Throttle Valve
Hello all...I have a stuck throttle cable and I removed the entire cable and then removed the carb cap and exposed the throttle valve assembly. I need to remove the jet needle and spring from the throttle valve. The manual says to "pry" out the retainer but cant figure out how to get it ou...

Re: 1985 Spree Electrical Issue?
I forgot to mention that in addition to this wierdness, the starter relay checks bad according to the service manual, however, it doesnt have any problem providing the necessary current to the starter...saved some $ there that I can apply to a new seat cover!!

Re: 1985 Spree Electrical Issue?
Well, its fixed. These "phantom" electrical issues drive me insane....I took every electrical device/component off of the bike and double and triple checked each one. I then decided to re-check the fuse for continuity. I pulled the fuse, checked it out and it checked fine. I put the same f...
