Got it running!
Well, my 87 Spree got put back together yesterday and it runs pretty nicely. I completely cleaned the carb/installed new carb gaskets and flushed the fuel and oil tanks and their filters.......put in a new spark plug and I was ready to crank it up. I tested the oil pump (before I rode it) and it out...

Float seat Part Number.......
Well, I have a 1987 Honda Spree (NQ50). Ordered a new float seat since the carb leaks a little. Well, the new one I got is taller by about 1/2 than the original one.....wouldn't even fit under the float.
The part number I got was #16155-ZE5-005......is this the correct one?

Hose Clamps
Where can I get the small spring clamps to attach vacuum, fuel, oil lines?
I have gone to numerous auto and lawn mower parts houses and they have nothing small enough? Do I have to goto a Honda dealer and pay $3.00 a clamp? ![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)

Re: Gas Octane......87 or 93??
Yea, it is just stock.....I'll burn the 87 with some gas stabilizer. Thanks!fightingplankton wrote:since it's a 2 stroke, putting anything other than 87 in it accomplishes nothing but you having less money.
there is actually a thread about this on here somewhere(i'm too lazy to find link for you though).

Gas Octane......87 or 93??
Got a 87 Spree......should I run the 93 octane instead of regular unleaded (87)??
I just got this bike and I am putting the carb back together on it's all cleaned with new float seat, o-rings and gaskets. Also got a new plug along with a new air filter. Looking forward to see it run like a top!

What is a good brand of Battery for 87 Spree??
Going to get a battery for the Spree this weekend and looked at Batteries Plus here locally and I can get a XTAX4L-BS Xtreme Permaseal Battery [SB50 (All) Honda] for $31.00. I thought that was a pretty good deal with my contractor discount (normally $39.99)......plus I get a $5.00 rebate so I am goi...

Re: Oil injector....how do you know it works for sure?
I am cleaning the carb and all and was worried if the oil injection worked. I have no problem doing pre mix.....just don't want to screw something up with the oil not being dispensed properly.

Newbie question....chop plug?
I've seen some posts about chopping the plug......what does that mean? I am running a 1987 Spree and it has the NGK BPR6HSA plug. I'm not sure what the what the gap is supposed to be......so I was curious about what chop meant. Thanks!

Electric starter work?
I just got a 1987 Honda Spree and the battery was not installed. I hooked it to a 12 volt jump box to see if I could get the electric start to work.....but no luck. Is the electric starter bad? Will it only work with a battery installed? How can I tell if the starter is working correctly? I am still...

Idles but loses power and dies when I ride it
Well, I am a new owner of a 1987 Honda Spree. Has less than 600 miles on it and has been sitting up for the past 6 years. Overall looks in great shape....little dirty but will clean up nicely. :coolcruise: Battery was missing and I might replace it later. Thought I would take it for a spin but could...
