Yeah, I'd say you got your $20 out of it.

Although I prefer the other variant of the Gyro, I'd say $500 is wortwith it. If it has been sitting forever (bad tires, brakes, dirty carb, rusty tank, etc...) and has 5k+ miles, I'd talk him down.

I always wear a leather jacket and goggles. Depending on where I'm going, I'll wear my helmet.

How clean was the carb? Was it gummed up? Check the fuel filter, tank, and fuel lines for debris. Check the airbox as mine will always bog down / die off at WOT when there is something wrong with the air box.
