Re: 2001 Honda Elite S
My only other thing is i dont want to premix or change the oil pump soo..what should i do or not do. I just de-restricted my 2001 S. Replacing the oil pump was a breeze. Well worth the 10 min it took me to do it...plus not having to premix is great. Do the following if you want to consistently do 4...

2001 Honda Elite S (de-restricted): Exhaust Upgrades?
So my de-restricted stock exhaust is getting the job done for now. However I'm looking for some advice on a decent aftermarket exhaust with good airflow but not too obnoxious/loud. I've seen several people mention V8 Exhausts but I am not familiar with what is available for the '01 Elite. Some of th...

Re: Removing 2nd Airbox Tab: Questions....
Greetings: Since you're testing things out, consider the possibility that the 88 "overshoots" the ideal mixture for the enlarged airbox opening. Check your spark plug for a darker-than-cardboard color and monitor the CHT gauge if you have one. If temps are low and plug is dark, consider t...

Re: Removing 2nd Airbox Tab: Questions....
So I removed the 2nd tab in the airbox and replaced the main jet with a #88 main jet. I cannot seem to feel any difference between my .82 jet with one tab open versus the .88 with 2 tabs open. Top speed seems to be about the same on flat ground (needle points right at the "F" on the fuel g...

Re: Removing 2nd Airbox Tab: Questions....
ok here's some pictures. take off the airbox cover, then here's where the air intake things are. my tab is already punched out. ok so picture number 1 is the outside of the holes. pay no attention to the extra holes, i been messing around and putting in it, and there covered up with electrical tape...

Removing 2nd Airbox Tab: Questions....
Guys- Questions: 1.) Can anyone provide a picture of the 2nd airbox tab that can be removed? I've looked over my airbox and cannot seem to locate it. 2.) Once you remove this tab, do I need to upjet or will the .82 jet suffice with the current setup? (see below my current setup). My Current Setup: -...

Re: De-Restricting the '01 S Model - Questions
Greetings: The pump withdraws with two bolts, although they're not the easiest to reach. The PITA part is replacing the cable. When you say "replacing the cable"...are you referring to the actual throttle cable with the split end? If so, I have already battled through that process. Can yo...

Re: De-Restricting the '01 S Model - Questions
Greetings: The S and SR oil pumps both have a cable-control "throttle" even though the S didn't feature a split cable. However the two pumps definitely have different part numbers, and the only testing done on this issue suggests that while the SR pump output yields a 50:1 ratio at a maxi...

De-Restricting the '01 S Model - Questions
So I've poured over the thread regarding the de-restricting of the S elite. Now I'm a bit concerned. From what I am reading, some have questioned whether or not the stock S oil pump can deliver enough oil with modifications. Now originally my S had one throttle cable...no split. Nothing controlled t...

Re: 87 Elite Iowa Edition
So you guys have confused me a bit as I was given different information in a previous thread........ I was told to use a .78 main jet rather than the restricted stock .68 after removing the variator restriction plate and welded washer in the exhaust. I have the same restricted moped as the Iowa Edit...
