Re: Polini 19mm won't start on my spree

38 pilot on a 19mm is prob really rich try a 32. And it really does sound rich still. Maybe it just needs a smaller jet. Is it the new style polini carb? They are really effient and take way smaller jets according to G9.

Re: Running rich all of a sudden

Mr. Jumps is on it, and ill add one more... check the exhaust for insect nest in the end of the pipe. Happened to me once, they may a mud plug in the pipe and it runs super rich. If you were doing electrical the ground problem idea could be a winner, had that issue and my af18 motor felt like it was...

Re: 86 Spree ALMOST running after 10 years. Almost. Advice?

Alright the screw in question is the idle air mixture screw, it should start about 1.5 turn or a little more out for a starting point. There is procedure in the manual to set the idle speed and the idle mixture they are dependant on each other. Now to get the thottle slide in so it doesn't jam you n...

Re: Honda NH80 Lead/Aero Parts Help

I think the lathe idea will work well. Got nothing to loose. I think if you go with a block and wet dry paper you can really fix that up nice maybe 400 to 600 then 800 maybe even start with 220. Spin it up and gently apply the block to.preserve the angle. Then work up in into the finer grits. And fi...

Re: Stock Spree with Taz gears..RESULTS!!

The 113 psi compression is in direct contradiction to the one on pg 1-3 specification: 7.2 or 6.8. Maintenance 3-1 says 113. Same manual. I believe lower on 1-3 may be for the Iowa model or some other wimped down model. I also got the SE 50 manual, free download, from motrscooterguide-net. They did...

Re: '85 Spree Jetting With MLM Sidebleed

Yeah that's pretty great for temps and that is much higher top rpm than stock, which is a good thing. The pipe is totally doing its job.

Re: Ported spree

I read someone wanting to have better take-off and at the same time putting in high speed gearing. You can not get both. You need to put in low speed gears to get better hole shots. Also the clutch will burn up faster with high sped gears. I would suggest getting the engine to run faster and leave ...

You need to remove the washer from the plug before you use the sensor. The sensor becomes the washer on the plug

Re: Spree bbk issues.

The reason to mix 32:1 is to make sure there is enough lub. At 50cc there is enough, maybe. Read the stock pump is 50:1. That seems too little even for 50cc. Now, at 68cc there is even less oil. Reconnecting the pump gives more oil. Perhaps averaging about 20:1. In the way back it was common to see...

Larger main jets for spree carb are available from Honda all.you do is change the last couple digits of the part number to make the jet size you want. So the 68 jet part number will end in 68, change to a 72 and that's the number for the 72 jet. Simple

Re: Very low compression in cw direction

Just buy a new top end and you will get around 120 to 125 psi compression. 150psi compression is high for stock spree top end. Sprees have been reported to run kind of ok at just above 90 psi but its not the norm and the book says it shouldn't and normally they wont. Anyhing in the 100ish to 130 sho...

Re: '85 Spree Jetting With MLM Sidebleed

Running rich will kill top end in a hurry. If it growls kind of its possibly rich. Usually If its a hair lean it will go like a burning witch untill it seizes. I did the testing on that pipe before he put it into production and it ran best with stock jet and air box installed on stock setup, but all...

Re: Stock Spree with Taz gears..RESULTS!!

I have a 86 Spree that seems to soft seize after 5 minutes on the grass. No title so just for off road use. Compression is only 80 and is hard to start cold. It starts one or two kicks when warmed up. Has no filter and runs without then slows to 5mph like I said about 5 minutes. What is the proper ...
