Re: Engine build problems
Sorry was typing that when you posted. I wonder if the small case half is wrong or if one from a af16/18 will fit cause that seems to be the difference in the cases. Not really happy about splitting the case again so hopefully he'll have a flywheel, ill find out tomorrow.

Re: Engine build problems
Im new to 2 strokes and the whole cdi setup. Considering the pulser is on the back side of the rotation on my af24 and its on the front of the af05e, i would need completely different flywheels correct? There is almost a 1/4 turn of the crank difference in where the pulser is bolted. They look simil...

Re: Engine build problems
Just tried swapping in the stock carb, still wont start. Check out this picture, im wondering if i got the wrong flywheel with my af24 crankcase. Its the same as my af05e flywheel. But on the af05e crankcase, the pickup is towards the front and the af24 is towards the back meaning it picks up signal...

Engine build problems
Well, i killed the af05e that came in my honda tact awhile ago so i figured i'd build something better. Got a af24 44mm crank 51mm cyl kit. Swapped the stock carb for a keihin 19mm. Cant get it running at all. Compression is around 125, my gauge might be messed up though. I had originally stacked a ...

Re: BBK stroker issues.
Actually the harness is the same, just different in length. I just didnt think there was a difference and i knew mine was good when i had it running before. Ill work on it some more tomorrow, gotta goto work soon. Not sure why im having the starting issues now though. I put my 50 pilot back in, do y...

Re: BBK stroker issues.
The carb is from jiangwayne, its the keihin 19mm. I think its a timing issue. My old engine was a af05e. Ive been using my old stator and flywheel with the new af24. I seemed to have a spark issue which i think was just a bad ground, but i decided to swap in the other stator flywheel. I just noticed...

51mm, the head wont fit the other way, then it angles it underneath the oil tank.

Re: BBK stroker issues.
I have a wideband o2 sensor from my car that ive had sitting around. Tested that out, was reading around 13.5 or so at idle, wot it jumps up to 15-16, way too lean. What would cause that? I dont think its a carb issue. Its not drawing in fuel for some reason. Maybe the crankcase has a leak? would th...

Re: BBK stroker issues.
Havent found my compression gauge yet, ill probably just go pick up another one. Starts up on a few kicks. When i give it throttle, i get a deep tone comming from the carb, rpms maybe go up a few 100 even at wot, not even enough to engage the clutch. Put the 19mm carb back on, tried running without ...

BBK stroker issues.
Just built a new engine for my tact, 44mm mini stroker, 51mm cyl 19mm keihin carb and a v8 pipe. Starts up and idles fine, cant get any rpms out of it though. Just bogs and dies. Thought it was maybe the carb, swapped out another brand new 16mm heihin carb with the same issues. Only other thing i ca...

Re: My Honda Tact
Well, picked up a mini stroker crank and a 51mm cyl kit. Everything is almost done just have to space the cylinder a bit cause the piston hits the head. Should i just add a few gaskets underneath? Have to make up 1.8mm difference. The stock gasket is close to 1mm so 2 more should do the trick, that ...

Re: My Honda Tact
Jiangwayne is like 20 mins away from me. Maybe I should not bother with the 50mm crank and just get a mini stroker 44mm and use the 51mm head, would be less issues and I wouldnt have to bother cutting the case. How are CMR cranks? The case i got doesnt have a crank so i'll need something.
