1984 NH80 fan air tube question
I've been putting together an 84 Aero 80 and have searched diligently but have not found the answer. Does anything plug into the other end of the fan air tube?

Re: When to replace piston rings?
Diagnosing is what I am trying to do. Need to do the gaskets anyway since it is apart and was planning on doing the reed upgrade. I'll just go with thatsomeone didn't put it back together properly and probably reused the head gasket. Didn't run when I bought it. Thanks for the advice.

When to replace piston rings?
I have a 1984 aero nh80. The piston looks ok and measures just within spec. The cylinder looks ok and meets spec. perfectly. The ring end gap service limit calls for .024. My upper ring is .014 and the lower measures .021. Both within spec. My compression measured 50 psi. I have purchased a new head...

Re: No vaccumn 83 Aero 80
Thank you for your input. As I feel no vacuum at all from the line I guess I should probably check the compression? Is there a particular type of compression gauge that fits in there relatively easy?

No vaccumn 83 Aero 80
I purchased an 83 Aero 80 basket case a couple of years ago and have very slowly been working on it. It is cleaned up (not panels) and ready to run. I have spark and a new air filter but it wouldn't start. No fuel was reaching the carb. I discovered there is no vacuum from the brass vacuum tube bene...

Aero 80 reeds
I am putting together a 1984 Aero 80. Looking at past conversations I see that the consensus seems to be for Boyesen #740 reeds and #90 main jet. Before I open my wallet just wanted to make sure this still held true.

Let me preface by saying that I was a freelance toy sculptor for 30 years. A lot of people have seen and played with my work, such things as Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, GI Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you get the idea. I possess a BFA in sculpture and an MFA in ...

I had sandblasted my aero 80 muffler the night before. Got home and no one was there so I decided it was time to do some cooking. Looks good doesn't it?

Re: New scoot
It will definitely be for riding. My Aero 50 was much more of a basket case. It was purchased for $25 in the Keys when it was only 4 years old.

I purchased this last Friday for $140. Most of the body panels need replaced. Kicks over nicely. The man i bought it from purchased it for his grandson to restore but they ended up doing a small tractor instead. He said it ran nicely when they put it in the garage 4 years ago. I haven't changed the ...

Re: Roller weights for Ruckus variator
I am 5'10" and weigh about 165. The take off I had with the original variator was fine. This Ruckus seems a little slower and I don't have the power going up hills. There are a lot of hills in Cincinnati. I was hoping to just put the optimal rollers in, put the plastics back on and ride. But if...
