Re: Now the Elite is TOO jumpy and herky querky II
Let it be known that Ms. Bean does not respond to rude crazy idiots. :drama: seriously, dude you have some real anger issues. OK, Sunday, after church, I will do the easiest thing which is to gently take apart the throttle, clean, adjust it a bit and go from there. It is free and after we knock that...

Re: Stellar Find
Will post pics tomorrow but wow. Just returned home with an excellent deal. 86 Spree with clean title, rebuilt kickstart, carb, new filter box and connections, bystarter, and a ported cylinder for $200 bucks cash. Drove it home, was cruising at 35-37, thing was purring. Very satisfied not just need...

Re: Now the Elite is TOO jumpy and herky querky II
GJBean, My 1994 elite SR was the same way. The scooter has massive low-end but zero top-end. I very much enjoyed it but didn't enjoy the revs at 35. These scoots are really considered wheelie machines, much like the Yamaha Jog. They have a burst at first throttle operation, which is liked by many. ...

Re: Now the Elite is TOO jumpy and herky querky II
Greetings: It sounds as though your clutch really " hooks up " as it engages. Most people consider that to be a good thing. The throttle is not a 2-position device, but infinitely adjustable. Its modulation is a learned skill, requiring a supple wrist with a firm grip on the handlebar. Su...

Re: Now the Elite is TOO jumpy and herky querky II
OK, men SETTLE DOWN. Go to your corners. You are going to get my topic locked AGAIN, and not sure if I have the answer yet. Go somewhere else and call each other names. :blah: Once again 1999 Elite SA50P 7000 miles 8 spark plug muffler cleaned and restrictor bored out. Jumpy as a cat. Not to Ms. Bea...

Re: Now the Elite is TOO jumpy and herky querky II

Very ...

Re: Now the Elite is TOO jumpy and herky querky II
As posted before give the throttle cable some slack. This can be done easiest under the handlebar you know the little J hook? It has an adjuster loosen it some and try out the results. thanks marty. that is the best thing about these bikes, you can try things real easy and see if that works. just di...

Now the Elite is TOO jumpy and herky querky II
Men, please. Ms. Bean loves you all, but your competition for her affection has started a blazing fire. Which Ms. Bean sees as a total compliment. AND ON TOP OF THAT MY TOPICS KEEP GETTING LOCKED. OK, on the throttle thingy. I do have the service manual. Hopefully I can get some instructions ...

Now the Elite is TOO jumpy and herky querky
1999 Honda Elite SA50P 7000 miles 8 spark plug new/used exhaust bored out When I turn the throttle, the thing almost jumps out from under me. Like a 1/8" and ZOOM. Careful not to hit the throttle when you grab the brake or ZOOOMMMMMMMM. Ms. bean prefers a more stable ride. smooth. any suggestio...

Re: Elite vs. Zuma
I think the Aprilia might be the thing for me??? Comments???? :hi: Oooo, good taste. I had one of those for 2 weeks (all my insurance would cover it for without a new policy) and the RS is fun. The elite or zuma are better for those runs to the grocery store though with the storage, foot board, lug...

Re: The Helix is cool-
I know you hate the Helix- but ride one someday, they are extremely comfortable to ride and are pretty peppy. I actually really like the look of the bike. Plus you can get them for almost nothing and they last forever. My girlfriend actually loves to ride on the helix with me because it is so comfo...

Re: Elite vs. Zuma
Scooters? hmm. I hate that word. Mopeds I can live with. Ms. Bean does not want a motorcycle, that would make her dream tooooo much about her boyfriend from college and Mr. Bean would get jealous. AND Ms. Bean is NOT looking for style as she would probably cause entirely tooooo much trouble on a mot...
