Re: Can going down / up hill damage my little Spree's engine?

THanks for your replys wheelman. I hopes its not the piston and bore also, but I just did a full tune up on the scooter including new spark plug, cleaned carb, new oil, new gas, and overall clean up. It was running really great until this, so I think it is probably the bore/piston. If I put on the b...

Re: Can going down / up hill damage my little Spree's engine?

Im pretty new to scooters. I am wondering if someone could give me a technical explanation of way going down the hill killed the top end of the engine. Is it because the scooter was moving at 30 mph but did have the throttle open enough to alow sufficient fuel/oil mixture into engine?

Thanks

Re: Can going down / up hill damage my little Spree's engine?

Yeah. Thats what I was thinking. The 48mm kit is about 145 on ebay right now. I think that chopchop seller is Taz. Anyway, I need a machine shop to bore out my cylinders right? How much does that cost?

Re: Can going down / up hill damage my little Spree's engine?

so whats the best way to do a compression test on these if I dont have the proper tools to test it. I read that one person can put their thumb over the spark plug hole while another person cranks. If the thumb is blown off the hole, then there is enough compression. Is this a good basic test, or do ...

Can going down / up hill damage my little Spree's engine?

So my GF took my Spree up a hill that end up being a little too much for it. She realized this and turned around. She said the engine was still running fine when she turned around and she started heading down the hill. This hill is long and fairly steep so she was going down hill for a minute or so ...

Re: Are my handle bars / fork bent?

So I havent taken it apart yet becuase I think it drives fine and my girlfriend needed to use it today. But I just want to add that the handle bars and the front fender line up great, its just the wheel that is * to the left. So if I just adjust the handle bars, then wont my wheel be lined up and my...

Are my handle bars / fork bent?

So my front wheel is just a little * to the left. It doesnt wobble and it drives fine, but to go straight you compensate with the handle bars and little to the right. So is this something that can be adjusted like on a bicycled fork / handlebars. Or is my fork bent? I figured id ask the experts befo...

Re: Can my carb be fixed?

Dam. Im looking at the pictures on of the carb cleaning guide and there definitely is not a spring. Ill have to take a look at it again when I get off work. Hopefully I can get it to bite in there without the spring. Honestly, that could've been my bad. I am a SpreeNewb. So where can I get a tap, an...

Re: Can my carb be fixed?

hmm. I definitley took a spring out of there. It doesnt go around the main jet cylinder, it sits in between the top of the cylinder and the screw. Is that not correct?

Can my carb be fixed?

So I cleaned out my carb last night and as I was putting the main jet back in, I had the spring compressed, and got a little bite on the threads, but as I let off pressure to readjust my hand for another turn it popped up and I hear little flecks of debris hit my work table. Well, as im inspecting, ...
