Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I did a little checking around with the Honda dealer, and they told me the original battery was actually a 5L-BS, so unfortunately, I ordered the wrong part. I don't know why the previous owner had a 4L-BS in there instead, but I guess that is why that battery didn't last very long.

So the 4L-BS is in fact the correct battery. Yes, I would like to put in the larger 5L-BS; however, I think it will be a tight fit and I have already ordered the 4L-BS and would hate to make the cycle shop cancel that order in exchange for a 5L-BS because I am not sure if their distributor will let ...

Could somebody give me a definitive answer on the correct battery type for my 1986 Honda Elite 80 scooter. The battery I took out of the scooter is a 4L-BS; however, when looking up the battery applications on the internet, it only brings ups Elite 80's from 1993 onwards and it calls for a 5L-BS bat...

Thanks BMX. I have now found the seller that you mentioned and it is substantially cheaper. I found the carb to be loose on the mounting plate today so I tightened down; however, if I am still having the same problem tomorrow morning, I will go ahead and order the part.

Is this the same thing as the automatic choke? I was told on another forum just a while ago by somebody who replaced the automatic choke that as soon as they did the replacement, all problems were fixed. I hope this is the same thing because if not, I will have to buy two different parts and fix it ...
