Alright I took off the flywheel... so how can I tell if my crank is bent or not? And if it is do I have to but a whole new crankshaft?

Crooked Alternator/flywheel
My 98 elite wont kick start and I have narrowed it down to the fact that the alternator/flywheel in wobbly an rubs against the side. I figure I will have to pull the flywheel but I cannot figure out what size puller to get... and how do I fix a problem like this?

Re: Too much pressure when starting
Thanks man I have taken all the plastic off and as far as I can tell without pulling the flywheel it does seem crooked, when I rotate it it seems off center and there is a slight wobble.... Is this gonna be hard to fix? Also the thing I don't understand is when i kick start it with the spark plug ou...

Re: Too much pressure when starting
I finally gave in and hooked up jumper cables to use the electric start....It started right up but at high speeds I can see sparks coming from the flywheel/alternator area, and the kick start still does not work.
Any ideas?

Too much pressure when starting
When I try to kick start my 98 elite (battery is dead) it is very hard and feels as if there is too much pressure in the cylinder. However when I kick it with the spark plug out it moves as smooth as ever. I have checked everything aside from pulling the flywheel and it all seems to be in working or...

Re: Having concerns about my new elite
I took off the kick start case and examined everything in there... everything seems fine. With the kick start case off when I turn the gear that the kick start is supposed to turn with my hand it is smooth and I can see the piston moving easily up and down(looking through plug hole). Once I put ever...

Re: Having concerns about my new elite
Tightening the exhaust did not make much of a difference... after I tightened the exhaust it was riding about the same as usual, I left it for the whole day and just tried to ride it and now it wont start. When I use the kick start the lever wont even move, it feels like the engine is seized up or s...

Re: Having concerns about my new elite
I haven't ran it yet since I tightened the exhaust, do you think that will effect the gas mileage and the bogging down?
Also I figure that 3 oz of oil is 42:1.... 128 oz in a gallon and 128/3= 42.6. so 32:1 would be 4 oz of oil

Re: Stock Oil Pump Delivery Ratio
Hi all, I just bought a 1998 elite sa50p and the guy I bought it from disabled the oil resivoir because of some sort of modification he did to it. He told me I had to premix the oil at the gas pump and I was wondering what the best ratio would be... he said 50:1 but one of my buddies said to do more...
