Re: compression test help!!!

yes, i used some metal shims, and shimmed the jug up from the base gasket 2.008mm (exactly) and the edge of the piston just clears the transfer ports. but it takes 3mm to clear exhaust and boost port....

Re: compression test help!!!

Get yourself a degree wheel and check the exhaust duration with the base gasket that came with the kit.get one of the long trans cover bolts or use 2 of the head bolts with washers or over sized nuts to hold the cylinder down from moving. Set the top of the piston on the down stroke so the edge of ...

base gasket question for my 50mm bbk

i have a 50mm bbk from jiangwayne.. the piston does not clear any of the ports. to clear the ports at bdc i would have to raise the jug 2mm then that would leave me like 3mm from the squash band at tdc. as it sits right now piston is 1 mm from cylinder head at tdc Raising the jug 2mm would make the ...

Re: compression test help!!!

You can loose some of that compression if not all through the reeds.as the piston goes up,the pressure shuts the reed close.if its open you can loose that air pressure.that's why the reeds are there for.if its in there and the leak is not that bad I suspect the head gasket went bad or the head is w...
