Re: I’m Back!
Thanks MotorMike - glad to be here and thanks for the advice on the exhaust. Mine doesn't look too bad but a little rusty. Just started washing and cleaning and getting to the carb for a clean. Should be fun.

I’m Back!
Hello all, It’s been several years since I’ve been on the forum as I moved on into motorcycles and such without having owned a spree or Honda related scooter in a long time. But now I’m back to dive into the madness. Picked up these 2 scoots yesterday and can’t wait to get em running. 4F2FA6E6-DBA0-...

Re: Wandering through Japan
Just finished a 5 week trip through Japan. I seem to be fascinated with the Gyro Series to the point of obsession. Here’s a bit of what I saw while walking around. http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa443/polaricetwo/C598DC6A-1FB1-4352-9C80-B3F771F22B5D_zpsz0ku1pye.jpg http://i1198.photobucket.com/...

Re: Wandering through Japan
When I saw the handle PolarIce, got a bit surprised. Great to hear from you Chief. Safe travels sir....mm Thanks Mike. Doing well. Spent the last 3 years in Australia (wife's work) and now we're doing a bit of traveling after the kids got off to college. I think I'll take more scooter pics when I g...

Wandering through Japan
hello all, it’s been several years since I’ve posted but I figured you guys would get a kick out of this graveyard of parts I happened across while visiting a more rural part of western Tokyo. I see some gyro UP models in there as well. Anyway I hope all of you are doing well and best of luck in th...

Re: Winter Project - Suzuki RV90
looks good sitting still???? what it like on the road??? swimmingfree It's a squirrely beast that's for sure with the big tires. Those first 2 gears are just about worthless to get you up to 15MPH, then 3 and 4 get you humming along at meager 40mph. I need some more seat time and maybe some sand/mu...

Re: Winter Project - Suzuki RV90
Ok. I'm happy to report that we have a runner now but it wasn't the ground or the points. Luckily for me my local dealer had the 1 and only flywheel puller in town and it was an exact fit for my application. Before I got started pulling the flywheel I made sure there was a good ground, a new coil, n...

Re: Winter Project - Suzuki RV90
Well... I went to start it last night and I am finding a NO SPARK condition. I used a new coil and I put on the old coil still NO SPARK. I guess I'll start tracing out the wiring and looking at the magneto. The Germans make a nice CDI 12V convert system for this bike but it's like 400 bucks. Not qui...

Re: Winter Project - Suzuki RV90
Put in some more work this weekend. I got the wheels back from the sand blaster, looks like the pitting from the rust was limited to the "inside" of the wheel so I put a few coats of rustoleum on them. http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa443/polaricetwo/18F49372-F88D-429F-B23E-00A464BA48...

Anybody been to Antarctica?
This old man has been reminiscent this week with the USCGC Polar Star (my old ship's sister, see my sig) going down to break out those "less capable" ships out of the ice. Probably my best tour ever in the USCG. http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2014/01/06/world/06antarctica-img/06antarc...

Re: Winter Project - Suzuki RV90
Still cleaning over here. Once I get the wheels to/from the sand blaster I should be able to get a "test run" going. Otherwise I'm just cleaning and checking. Went through both of the switches and found plenty of dirt, dead insects and corroded brass terminals. Got em all cleaned up and sw...

Who likes Before and After PICS? THIS GUY! I had Xmas Eve day off and hit the cleaning hard on this one. http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa443/polaricetwo/19FF633E-9E02-4119-ABBF-198532D4278B_zpspntik6jt.jpg Here's the bottom, I forgot to take a pic before spraying on the oven cleaner but basica...
