Re: Did a compression test on my Elite...help
if this is true, how does mine run perfect? I did research on other sites and on a few, I've read "A motor must have a minimum compression rating of at least 100 to 125 pounds per square inch to operate properly." is this not true? Did it twice with wot and its the exactly the same reading...

Re: Did a compression test on my Elite...help
Just to know basically. I'm somewhat Ocd on anything I own with an engine. I like to know as much as possible and become educated. When I got the scooter I knew nothing of its history so I went right through it from plug, belt, cleaned Carb, filter, gear oil etc. So, its free to borrow a comp tester fro...

Re: Did a compression test on my Elite...help
Did it twice with wot and its the exactly the same reading. I'm thinking it has to be the gauge due to 4 tests with all the same results and two with wot and two with the throttle closed.
Ideas or comments until I get a new tester?

Re: Did a compression test on my Elite...help
It runs wonderful and hauls my fat 260 6'2 jazz around no problem 30+.
I borrowed the gauge from Vato Zone. I did have to use an adapter, it came with two...one larger and the one from the scoot plug. I was shocked!
Maybe ill use thread tape on all connections and tighten it more?

Did a compression test on my Elite...help
well, she runs great, plenty of power and i'm a big guy but it looks like 59#'s of pressure. how bad is that? I'm a scooter newbie. I'm kind of surprised as my 92 elite has only 1,500 miles.
Suggestions on what to do..again, I'm a novice but I'm learning like crazy.
thanks!

Re: Iowa models
egh? 1973? I'm essentially agreeing with you. I'm an adm on a board I run and redundant questions are well, annoying at times. We get guys on our forum that just sit like sharks in the ocean for a newbie to ask questions so that they can point out the search function. Well, sometimes some search fun...

Re: Iowa models
yeah, not too used to the forum yet...now i know to check the wiki.
I figure if every answer is in wiki, why have a forum....I know redundant questions/answers are tiresome...but new light is insightful at times.
thanks

Iowa models
I've read frowned upon opinions on Iowa models...is t here a reason? Is it a restriction issue or am I reading more into it than there is. I remember someone not wanting an Urban Express Iowa model and read some other posts on slow Spree's etc. I did use search with no such luck. Forgive me if this ...

Re: It's bone stock but...muffler questions?
sorry for not being more specific. Bolt on's is more like it, Is there a muffler or anything I can do to help her out a little bit, run smoother, quicker without doing extensive work and leaving the scoot in a close to stock state. I want a super reliable machine without having to tweak everything.

It's bone stock but...muffler questions?
I have a very clean, 1400 original miles, 92 Elite SR. She runs sweet. I've had her up to 30+ and I'm 6'2 260. I'm not trying to make this a race scooter, I like the fact that its bone stock. However, can I do small things that won't effect the machine or its original, stock state? Is a 92 SR even a...
