So ive been running an old Honda Elite for about 1200 miles or so and I got it running great. The not so great part is I am only getting around 40-50MPG. I cant find any leaks. new fuel lines, new petcock and carb is great and it runs perfect but I am getting really low mpg no matter how I ride. So ...

I remember seeing a 1987 Honda Elite SE50 that was all tricked out. Front forks were replaced with shocks. Converted to disk brake. Had a different handlebar setup. And a side kickstand. Was really sweet. What I wanna know is how hard would it be to convert the front forks to shocks instead of Honda...

I vote the petcock is bad. Mine did the same thing. Might be nasty, but pull your vacuum line off and suck on it, if you get a mouth full of gas, your petcock is bad.

My 87 Elite 50cc is a little tough to start in the morning when its cold. And I generally only get it running with the kick start. But once its running for a min and getting good fuel it runs great and will run forever.
