Compression Tester

Which compression tester do you guys use? The one I have has two problems, it doesn't lock to the compression acheived and doesn't fit without removing the gas tank! Does AutoZone or Advance have these as loaners? Just installed a new Ruima 50mm and Stock carb upjetted to 100main. Kick started it a ...

Head Gasket a little bit bent

Purchased a 50mm kit and when I went to put it on today I noticed that the head gasket wouldn't lay flay on my work bench and it had a bend in it. I was going to take a picture but forgot, maybe put one up tomorrow. I figure the torqueing down should just straighten it but just wanted to know if any...

Re: Ruima Gear installation

Yea, very Tron like. My friend on the Super9 forum rode a 180cc modified Italjet Dragster. Does 90mph all day and water cooled! It is beefier than the 50cc version cuz 90mph on that small of a frame is silly.

Re: Ruima Gear installation

I found a pic of the Italjet Dragster. They even make a 180cc kitted 2 stroke scoot that starts life as a 125cc. Rare very Rare.

Re: Ruima Gear installation

I have built up 2 ZX50s, just Airsal kit and a bunch of malossi parts. It is probably my favorite scooter to work on and I have owned 4 super 9s that I bought, fixed and sold. The sickest stock scooter I ever owned was an Italjet Dragster 50 that I wish I could kept but someone offered me the right ...

Re: Ruima Gear installation

It is all good. Appreciate the help, all the bikes I have built so far have been Kymcos.

How you been doing at the track lately? I actually got into scooters from being in the pits bored and waiting! Probably will be building a drag scoot after I move in August.

Re: Ruima Gear installation

I knew someone would say exactly that about reading it. I am just glad you gave me the right answer first!

Thanks!

Re: Ruima Gear installation

Ok, that would but the R facing the engine as it is inserted into the case. I think it fits better with the other gear that way as well so I THINK that is correct. Just funny how they put an insignia on it and it goes on toward the engine so it cant ever be read. I don't want to read it but you figu...

Ruima Gear installation

I have the Ruima gear that needs to be pressed on. Can anyone tell me which way it is supposed to be pressed on? I am guessing it needs to be pressed on so that the R insignia is face up but i am not sure since I don't have the scooter here at work with me.

Re: Media Blasting and Powder Coating

My goal is to get old Honda Scooters looking like new for a low price, I am an enthusiast too. Satin black is a sweet color with just enough sheen to look like it was made yesterday. I have access to over 6500 colors through my supplier so the sky is the limit. I am waiting on a shipment of chrome c...

Re: Media Blasting and Powder Coating

I just mailed my dremel off to the MFG in a 5.95 flat box and it barely fit but maybe a tranny cover will fit in one too. I don't plan on making money on shipping, whatever it takes to send is what I will charge on the return. I will do all those parts in the picture the same color for 60. Prepped a...

Media Blasting and Powder Coating

I decided to invest some money to start a media blasting and powder coating business. I do have 10+ years doing body work and painting but I have to admit that powder coating is new to me but it really is a nice, durable finishing process. Although I have not been on this site a whole lot, my favori...

Re: SIP Order

I read that you had a Rukus Variator. I dont mind grinding the case a little bit to make it work so I will go that route. Although all of my Kymcos have used Malossi Trans parts, I think this time I will go all Polini, including the Torque Drive. Do you use the Polini Clutch as well? Also, I have a ...

SIP Order

Finally going to place the order for the rest of my parts for my 94 Elite. Getting the Polini Corsa, a Variator, Torque Driver (probably Polini since i think the Malossi TD needs to be lathed to clear the sping collar), and maybe a Clutch. Also Tach/Temp gauge that looks pretty cool - http://www.sip...

Re: Polini Corsa , are these the same?

I was just looking at this website as well, looks like a great place to get parts. Think i am going with a Corsa and wondered if this exhaust would be ok to use. There seems to be two different version. One with "e-pass" and one without? Is it some type of overseas thing, i am guessing it ...
