I know it isn't too exciting, but I gave my rusty, oil and grease cached cylinder a 24 hour bath in vinegar to help take some of the excrement off. It worked like a charm! Sure it isn't perfect, but it looks tons better.

I sprayed a little carb cleaner and two stroke oil then twister the fan engine around a bit, then took my air compressor and blew it all out, repeated X3, then put some more cleaner and oil in one last time and spun the fan engine while I wiped down the crank, and walls for fine debris. Thanks martynkim. I got the piston off. Now My main worry is if I need to take everything apart to finish fishing out the pieces of the piston that fell down into the drum?
