I used white grease for mine too and it has been working great so far. It was so dry in there it had no grease when i got it. The guy I got it from didn't have a clue about it. I even tested it before i put cover back on but you gotta be careful about it. But like Wheelman said use the White Lithium...

I have 2 87 sprees and they both started losing the charge the other day. This got me to thinking about different senerios of posibilities. It made me wonder how long does it actually take to charge up the battery while driving a spree? Reason I am asking, the batteries are ok everything checks out....

Mine had that same problem when I bought it. I could pull it back up but it would not spring back. I finally opened it up thinking I might need to replace the spring but all it needed was grease, so i put a little white grease on it and it works fine now. It was fairly simple to open and look.

I recently bought 2 87 honda sprees for the wife and I to commute to work. She liked the baby blue color I didn't. I tried a darker blue but it wasn't right either, then I came across this textured black that I really liked. I'll try to post pics of the Wife's spree so theres a "before" id...
