cracked cyl skirt
update, my cyl skirt is cracked on the front (exhaust). is there any hope of repair? i took it to a machine shop down the street and they said they couldnt fix it. have anyone ever dealt with this?

need help identifying aftermarket parts
wasnt sure if this should go in performance or not. anyway picked up an aero on a trade. has a polini kit on it, unsure if its 65 or 70 and some wm "performance cam" variator. included are a couple pictures. also is this a stock head or a polini as well? thanks guys and hope all you pnwers...

thanks for the imput paul. this will also be temporary, untill i track down a ruckus engine. just wanted something a little faster in the meantime and to experiment with. do you know what compression you are running?

they dont do o-rings and those work. so im sorry i dont see a valid point...?

if an o-ring would hold what about rtv with no hg? i guess basically my question is the width of the hg larger than the allowance of shaving the head?

Oh really porting it won't increase compression? Well No s*** hick. Ok so have a grove machined for an oring. I just thought I had heard people running without a hg is why I asked. Any feedback on trying this?

Stock bore with no hg?
I was reading a post someone did with a bbk kit and no hg. But is it too much to run a nq50 86 with no hg. Also planning on porting exhaust as well as intake. Hoping for higher compression to even out the pully mod. Is it too much compression?

Thanks so much for your help. I'll check the timing tomorrow. Do you think those things could contribute to the knockin sound when warm at idle or could it me something mechanical?
