Re: AF16E swap questions
Use the stator from the spree. There is a write up on how to mod a 87 elite s motor mount done by trafficjam and order the longest aftermarket shock you can find for an elite. Other than that its pretty easy. Drill a hole thru the frame and stick a bolt thru it and tack weld. Look at my spree build

Re: looking to vacation in hawaii
Hmmmm if you're trying to stay away from the city then I would probably say don't go to Oahu. Big island is kind of boring in my opinion and there isn't really much to do there besides the beach. Kauai is really nice if you're just looking to lounge at nice beaches and chill in nature. I think Maui...

Re: Crank Seals Vs. Rich Running
Any case leak or intake manifold leak will cause a lean condition. Do your reading in the jennings two stroke articles. Your mechanic is a moron.

Re: Break in procedure
I'll respectfully disagree with the king despite my regard for his experience. Idle once to make sure everything sounds good, cool down, check head. Ride lightly for a bit increasing load, vary throttle, avoid steady state running, cool down, do a few times. Get on it after that. Lots of rebuilds a...

To seat the rings correctly you need 50 miles of almost zero load. No hills and under 35mph

Re: SYM DD BULID HELP
Shouldnt bee seeing temps that high on wot. You may have a small air leak in your case or intake manifold. Also your port timing and compression might be in the wrong place because of the mini crank. Make sure your compression is between 125-135psi or your pre igniting the mixture any higher. I see ...

Re: 1988 elite runs too rich and cannot adjust
do a compression test, clean your carb, test the bystarter, check your reeds. Also i always start off with a new plug and filter when doing this type of troubleshooting

Re: Soft Seizing Sym
Put a 21mm carb and make sure its not leaking any air from anywhere. I would upgrade your gears to a 9:1 ratio. Your bore isnt broken in and sounds like your trying to max it out

Re: Soft Seizing Sym
Change gears to 9:1 ratio at least and run premix. You didnt say anything about a carb upgrade or premix. Sounds like this shop is ripping you. Also a new bore needs a heat cycle and 50 miles of riding with no load to seat the piston rings and 400 miles of low rev riding to break in the kit
