Hi, so i finaly made that project for my son, i builded him a scalled jeep using a AF18 motor. its not all done yet but i am close. It all runs ok but i feel that it could need some better tuning. It uses a custom exhaust with a longer pipe, and an open foam air filter, for space and technical reaso...

Re: Oil pump question: fed method, gravity ?
thanks guys for the reply. i made some test with the pump out of the motor, driven by a cordless drill and apparently it has 0 capability to suck at anything. Gravity fed then. Otherwise it works good, it squirts some oil at regular interval. Here is a short crapy video of what i am at for now...no ...

Re: 1997 DIO no power
25 years experience with 4 strokes has done nothing to prepare you for dealing with finicky 2 strokes. Install the airbox with new filter and see what happens. I suspect an extremely lean condition (no airbox) is preventing the engine from reaching higher RPM. Do you know for a fact that SA50 motor...

Re: Need help to identify my scooter and need some parts
No, Honda 50cc 2t scoots had many different ratings through out the years. I have no hands on experience with out of country complete dio bikes. I've been told they are 4.3-4.5hp. Some are up to 6hp with the electronic restrictions removed 6 hp !!! :surprise: crap...electronic limitations...like an...

Re: Need help to identify my scooter and need some parts
what do i win ? it seems that there is something special sought at with the dio's ? :duno: Honda's best 2t 50cc scooter engine ever brought over to North America. A huge bolt on aftermarket too. With a true dio, you will not have to port your cases to match the BBKs because you already have the lar...

Re: Need help to identify my scooter and need some parts
Look at the tranny gear cover (natural aluminum cover to the rear of the belt cover, has an oil drain bolt in it). What is the number between the "af" and "e-"? That will tell you if it is a dio or an elite type model. The sa50 went by multiple names around the world, elite 50 i...

Re: SA50 hard to start, lots of smoke
The plunger stuck down into the carb means the bystarter was not working like a choke. Which makes you scooter hard to start. It has nothing to do with the smoking issue. thanks, i figured that out. Oil pump is not the issue, as a test i disconnected the oil feed line when the motor was idling and ...

Re: SA50 hard to start, lots of smoke
it is a 1997 with 33xxxkm on it, i think it has a lot of miles..edit, KM ;) where is the oil pump ? for the choke think, i think i solved it, the plunger was stuck down low into the carb, i had to take pliers to get it out of there. it was seperated from the body of the solenoid. spring tention seem...
