Re: full throttle hesitation, only downhill

I would get the pod and tape it until it matches stock airbox and stocks doing that nonsense. At least you dont have my issue, no matter how fat the jetting is or the other way it stalls at wot. have actually considered something like this. had one jog setup where i put an empty metal can on pod, w...

Re: full throttle hesitation, only downhill

Guys come on. You can run the stock carb with the stock pilot and up-sized main jet. It runs fine. If your running a 47-48mm a good main jet is 100-102. A 50mm is a 105 main. You can either mod the stock air box with 3 one inch holes in the air filter box cover and add 1 inch uni breather filter pl...

Re: AF18E Super Dio ZX swap on AF09 Tact (Aero 50)?

it should be fairly straightforward, however I have NOT done this swap. only wanted to do one similar.

believe the main difference was swapping bushings between mounts. hopefully someone else can chime in here, as AF16E into aero/ se elite is quite a common swap and this is very similar.

Re: full throttle hesitation, only downhill

gotcha, open filter will never run right on the stock carb maybe, but feel im close :P Results of auxillary fuel tank w uninhibited fuel flow ==> Fail! same symptoms. At least this rules out a defect in the petcock, so that's a positive note. Next up, is to source 96+ jets and go bigger on main. my...

Re: full throttle hesitation, only downhill

stock airbox may in fact fix things. i have it, but was hoping to save it for a separate prj, plus like the sound with the open filter. will tweak a bit more and use this as last resort. graphite9, building this for a friend and have already sunk more into it than anticipated, so trying to stick to ...

Re: full throttle hesitation, only downhill

stumped. and baffled. is what I am.. So far have tried: new fuel/vac lines, no filter/new filter, adjusted float bowl. these things did nothing. noticed spark was "leaking" as in you could place hand near wire/boot and it would arc and shock your hand, So also replaced: new plug, new ignit...

Re: spray painting

I try to stay up-wind of the spray, and do it outside, other than that you should be ok if your not str8 huffing it. If you do huff it, use silver or metallic blue. More chemicals, heard it in d.a.r.e. LOL. will keep that in mind haha thanks for all the input everyone, much appreciated! typic...

spray painting

quick question for you guys, do you wear any sort of protection when spray painting/plastidip spraying outside?? i've generally just tried to wear a particulate mask, but wonder if thats enough. can still almost always smell the fumes, even thru the mask. makes me wonder if a real painting mask may ...

Re: Sa50 with big bore, carb question.

I built 2 elites, corsa/yasuni/intake/carb. The other corsa/arrow/intake/carb. Kept stock gears on both and did 55mph on one and 65-70 on the other and loved the wheelies. Point is i dont think you NEED gears. Thats a personal choice depending on how you like to ride. agreed. considering going this...

Re: Sa50 with big bore, carb question.

old post, but wanted to update: went with a custom filed jet to about ~102 size, with the open UNI. this combo has worked wonders, with no seize or issues with WOT for long stretches

Re: full throttle hesitation, only downhill

I would try to borrow a cht or buy one that still sounds possibly a seize. My bike is doing a similar thing as your describing and my initial thoughts are a seize but today when i scoped my bore it showed some small scratches. Better safe than sorry, grab a cht. Also if its only when downhill? That...

Re: '87 SE50 Rough rider - wheels, exhaust, suspension

mentioned suspension in the title, and finally did this mod! had it rolling around in my head for a while, and did it just before a go-cart track day, and it worked like a charm! and took no time at all, total bolt on straight forward swap. rear suspension: stock Kymco ZX50 stock shock - a good bit ...

Re: full throttle hesitation, only downhill

I ride my stock carb bike down a 13k mountain road dropping to 9k by the time were done. Never had an issue. Your plug will tell you if you're having fueling issues. ya im with yo on that, never had any such issue w/ all my other bikes and stock Honda OEM carb. don't feel super confident about this...

no backfire or bog, just hesitation kind of like a rev limiter but more akin a slight fuel cut
