Re: "70cc" Minarelli only goes 40?
That's kinda what I figured. I know I need to rejet the carb to make it run better. I'm thinking get a new carb, UNI filter, and a bunch of jets, say 90 to 105, for tuning. I'm kind of new to tuning scooters like this, so does that sound like a good idea?

"70cc" Minarelli only goes 40?
Bought a scooter (2005 Cobra Pierspeed Cheetah XS, if anyone's wondering) that has a horizontal Minarelli clone in it. PO said it has a 70cc BBK on it (oil tank is gone, so I'd be inclined to believe him), but it will only hit 35 easily and will creep up to 40. I figured it should to closer to 50; i...

Re: help needed on a spree
His compression tester is good, because I got the same reading on mine (note: the Spree referred to here is mine. Evilone is just working on it for me).

Re: Debating: Fix it or trade it?
Did a legitimate compression test on it and came up with 135 PSI, so I know it's not low compression causing the problem.

Re: Debating: Fix it or trade it?
That'd be great if I could transport it the four and a half hours it takes to get from here to there.

Re: siggy's Gyro thread
All I know is that for $540, that thing better be made out of diamond-encrusted gold. Thanx for the translation, book92....as much as I would like to have this pipe, the price tag makes no sense at all (unless you live in Dubai)...... ....maybe the pipe being built and tuned by member...

Re: Debating: Fix it or trade it?
looks like you're doing good so far. :thumbwink: the experience that you've gained so far outweighs the monetary payout in getting it. ;) keep a lookout on working motors that you could swap out for your current one that's in your working budget this could give you a faster way to get your ride on ...

Sturgis here. One of about 5 people in town with scooters, and the other four are all Chinese knockoffs.

Re: Debating: Fix it or trade it?
And if I asked you to decarbonize the exhaust, clean the carb, and put it all in a big box to ship to me, how much would it all run me?

Re: Debating: Fix it or trade it?
I bought it for $50, knowing full well it needed a starter and battery. It didn't have an air filter, cooling shroud, or mirrors. I didn't know until I got on here that the air filter was really needed to make it run along with the cooling shrouds. I still have to get the cooling shrouds, and I've m...

Debating: Fix it or trade it?
I have an '85 Spree that I bought for cheap last summer. I knew it had some problems, but it turned out to be a rather large headache. I'm currently debating over whether to sink the money into fixing it or offering it up on the board to trade (with some cash, of course ) for something I can ho...

Re: Weak spark, help me make sure I'm right.
I really hope so. I spent another $50 and a week just trying to get the motor to crank over (before that, I had to use an electric drill to get it started). I just want this thing to start up and run like it should, is all. :p
