Recently got an 86' Spree to fix/get running again. It had been sitting for at least 1 year, so everything was dirty and clogged up. Here's what I've done so far. wire a on/off switch in between the radio and battery, or yes, hook them in parallel

i tried it, as said in the tech docs, but i didn't get any black carbon out of mine. i followed the procedure right, but maybe i did something wrong. i got better luck from spraying a can full of degreaser through it.

i know the starting fluid wasn't the best idea, but it was my last resort to get this thing running. I only used a little and also the oil pump is hooked up and fully attached i just don't have any oil in the tank.

premix does? I'm just using premix for now so i don't have to worry about the oil pump at the moment. I finally got it started last night and ran it a lot today.

thanks for the replys, i just picked up some non-synthetic 2 stroke oil, that i will be trying in later. Is 32:1 better than 50:1 for breaking in an engine? Thanks for any replys, this spree is so hard to get running. Also, i picked up some starting fluid, is that ok to use right now?

I'm planning on buying a new seat cover and i know how to put them one with staples ( dirt bike seat covers ), i was mainly talking about just the foam itself. That spray glue and shaping it with a knife is a pretty good idea, espically to smooth it out.
