Re: Belt loose, belt issues?

I'm actually an idiot. I measured last night 15/32 not 15 mm. The belt is actually a little less than 12 mm. A belt that narrow would definitely be my problem, right? Now it's just blowing my mind how it went from close to 18 mm to less than 12 mm over a course of 100 miles or so. Could the little t...

Re: Belt loose, belt issues?

I have the clutch and pulley assembly taken off of the back of the bike but I am not going to remove the spring. The spring is very tight and isn't sticky or stuck like it had dried grease. The spring has definitely not collapsed and is moving very well. Since it appears to be working just fine I'm ...

Re: Belt loose, belt issues?

I guess I'll check the spring again tonight, the manual says the service limit is 92.8mm. When I checked last night it was nice and tight and was compressing the pulley well. Would a bad spring still compress both sides of the pulley with a good amount of force? A bad spring would not explain the la...

Re: Belt loose, belt issues?

The belt is at 15 mm right now. It is definitely not a ruckus belt. I bought this belt brand new from Honda, double checked the part number before and after receiving it. It has about 300 miles on it which is why I'm surprised it's like this already. The only reason I checked the belt it because I w...

Re: Belt loose, belt issues?

The spring is definitely good, I just checked, even took off the driven face just to double check. It has good pressure and seems to work very well. This scooter has less than 800 miles total so I wouldn't think the spring has gone bad already. The rear pulley had a bit of surface rust on it so the ...

Belt loose, belt issues?

I think that my belt is too loose I just want all of your opinions. I took off the two belt covers this afternoon and it was filled with a lot of belt dust, this was all just cleaned out when I installed my variator less than 100 miles ago. When idling the scooter with the covers off the belt kept s...

Re: 1994 Elite...time for big bore? Help me out!

I did not punch out the second tab. I also did not install the Malossi reeds that came with the kit because I wanted to use new gaskets. I just received the new gaskets this afternoon and wow does it run a ton better with the Malossi reeds. It was like night and day Honda reeds vs. Malossi reeds. It...

Re: 1994 Elite...time for big bore? Help me out!

It actually seems to accelerate better from a dead stop with two turns out. Acceleration through the whole power band still seems sluggish though with hesitation. Anything I can do to get this running good would be awesome! I am not against getting a new carb but for now I would love to just use the...

Re: 1994 Elite...time for big bore? Help me out!

At one turn out from a cold start this morning I sputtered up to speed for about a mile. Once I got to around 30mph the sputtering stopped but acceleration was still not smooth and I still had hesitation when I tried to accelerate. After the scooter was warmed up it did not sputter so much from a de...

I have been playing around with the air/fuel screw all day but right now it is about 3 3/8 turns out.

Re: 1994 Elite...time for big bore? Help me out!

Thanks so much for the help so far everyone. Okay so now I'm running the SR pump as well as 75:1 in the tank. I have it idling fine but am having some troubles tuning the carb. I am running a drilled 91 jet in the stock carb. I am getting a little bit of stuttering when starting out from a stop and ...

Re: 1994 Elite...time for big bore? Help me out!

I said that I was running the pump plus 30:1 just for break in. I will change that for my next tank though. So would you recommend something closer to 40:1 or 50:1 premix if I plan on keeping the SR pump?

Re: 1994 Elite...time for big bore? Help me out!

Installed a Malossi BBK last night and I am breaking it in right now. I am currently running a drilled 91 jet and premixing 30:1 in addition to the SR oil pump. I am going to run through 2-3 tanks with this oil mix for break in. After break in does anyone recommend a mix ratio or is it possible to j...
