Re: Carb Cleaning Tools?

No, it sounds like you need a fuel filter and you need to clean out the tank and the fuel lines.

Re: Shaving Gyro Head

Have you tried resanding down the head and the cylinder by taping a piece of 400 or so on a piece of glass or granite, then sliding the head against the sandpaper. I was told to mark the contact surface of the head with a Magic Marker first, then sand it until the marker is gone. Do the same with th...

Re: Gyro - general thread

I just mounted up 2 new tires I got from www.tires-easy.com. They are lawn and garden tires, but they are not cracked and worn out 27 year old Dunlops either. Look them up under lawn and garden, 5.30 by 6 rim. They have 4 choices. I got the tires, delivered, all in for just under $50. My local Walma...

Re: Gyro - general thread

So, has anyone found a way to work with the misplaced exhaust port connector so we can use a Spree or Elite big bore kit on the Gyro? It seems like everything would work except the connector would hit the crankcase.

Re: Help me start this bike please

Clamp a jumper cable on the engine somewhere and clamp the other end either to the frame or even the ground (negative) terminal of the battery, then start it and bounce on it. If it doesn't stall, you've got a bad ground connection between the engine and the frame. If it still stalls then my idea el...

Re: Aero50 cut off while riding and now won't start

Check the spark plug cap wire connections carefully. They can get loose and dirty and you will have engine stalls for that reason. Also, the CDI (I think you have one) can develop cracks in the circuits inside that cause these sudden failures, and the only real choice is to replace the CDI. These wi...

True. I only work on my own.

When it's getting late and I'm tired and I start a beer I just fade, and I go to bed. Things that were real difficult last night are easy in the morning.

Electric heat gun is pretty helpful. I don't think you can overheat it as easy as you can with a torch. Use tools with a lifetime guarantee.

Hey, don't complain too much. You got your plates and you're on the road, right? What do you care if they are stupid or smart? The only way to win is to get the plates and the title and move on. If you gotta sing "Stairway to Heaven" to make the deal go through, you sing. When I registered...

Re: gyro running on 30psi compression?

Maybe I'm completely wrong, but it seems like it would be hard to test compression in a tiny engine like this one with a compression tester that has a long hose and a pretty big air volume itself. The compression ratio would be way down because of all that capacity in the tester. A typical car engin...

Does anyone know what other Honda or other engines use the same reed valve as the Gyro? I'm pretty sure I need new reeds.

You know the tires are bad. So, once you get it started when you try to ride it, don't be surprised if it slips and slides on anything. It'll slide out on a shadow. You need tires and new valves.

Re: New to this, got a Spree, it is stalling with no power

I agree with everyone else, but I also think you should replace every fuel line hose. They deteriorate inside and all sorts of junk from the gas tank can get in there and it all ends up in the carburetor. You clean the carb, and 2 weeks later you clean it again, because that crud in the fuel lines i...
