Thanks for you help! How many thou would you recomend shaving from the head? (It's a 1986 NQ50) Would there be any drawbacks in doing this? If I remove the the barrel to port out the exhaust, will the rings need replacing if they've been disturbed? I don't want to pull the engine down before time. W...

The back tyre on my scoot finaly went flat. (Ive been giving it death for ages) I pulled it to bits to get the rim off. While i was taking it apart, I noticed the oil mixer thing was loose. I pulled it off, and found that the O ring was perished. Does the oil mixer thing go right into the crankcase?...

I'm fairly new to two stroke motors. My boss was telling me back when he was young, they used to alter the port timing on two stroke scooters. He said they used to shave the width of a hacksaw blade off the bottom of the piston skirt, and gain more power. Do you reckon this might work on a honda? I ...

Nah, it loves it long time! AVgas (As we call it here) will only hurt an engine if the compression is too low. I haven't done a comp test yet, but i've run three or four tank fulls through it without a problem. I was planning on doing new rings, and replacing the head with a smaller chambered early ...

I have an '86 "nifty 50" (They were called that here, but "spree's" where you are. It has about 11000kms on the clock. It's cheap to run, but quite guttless. I noticed by the fuel cap a sticker that says 'unleaed fuel only" What do you supose the reason for that is? In the q...
