I think thats a fair comment. At least honda has the parts. I've been told by suzuki and nissan (Grrr) that parts are NLA, when guys on inline forums (Albeit in other countries) insist thay are still available. I gave up and sold my RGV250 because suzuki said I couldn't get new needles and seats for...

mine too. Actually my datsun isn't a truck, (Or ute as we call them here) but a 72 1200 sedan. You do make a point, but figuring in the exchange rate, and freight they are still asking more than they should be. If anything, I'm probably closer to japan than you guys are. So I should be paying less (...

You're spot on Noiseguy. In my town, the autherised dealers are well known for being horrificly over priced. The * (thats a queens english word for a masterbator) at my local nissan dealer ussually just say that a part is not available when I ask for a datsun part, without even looking in a parts bo...

so that would be around $70NZD landed.

I can get a whole set of rings for my datsun for $50. and thats for all four of them, and there's more rings too. stuff is fully overpriced.

how much do replacement parts cost where you are?

I just rang the only honda dealer in my city, to get some prices. He said a new piston was $115, and rings were $100. That seems pretty expensive to me. How much do you guys pay where you live?

Thanks you circus. I'm actually about to bust a move and begin to reassemble it. I'm a little bit worried about the amount of movement in the little end. the piston has a bit of slop in the bore too. A bit of little end slop plus a whisker of rod strectch might = a piston vs head incedent. I priced ...

I have another airbox with no holes, off my parts scooter (found it at the dump!) So I'm not even going to bother trying to fix the old one. Although if I was, I'd wrap aluminuim foil tape over the holes. That stuff is great. The small end bearing might be worn. A bloke who came around while I was p...

I pulled the nifty down today. I found that some cretin (previous owner) has drilled holes in the airbox. This probably made it run worse, so they had put electrical tape over the holes. It had come away, and one of the holes was exposed. Perhaps thats why it would occasionally sweeten up a little b...

mine has neither. I did swap the clutch and belt for used ones in much better condition than my old ones about 18months ago. Although that made little if any difference to how it went. I just finished swapping the rego etc over to the other scooter. I can't believe how fast it is. It can pull all th...

slower and slower

My NQ50 is knob rottingly slow. It's actually begun to get slower than it was. twice this week on the way to work a guy on a push bike passed me, and then pulled away and out of sight. I'm about to stick the number plate off it onto my brother's evePAX, to ride while I pull down my bike. (His scoot ...

With the dirty ol' NQ50 Being devoid of said variator, if one was to do the pulley mod (thus increasing the gearing) and not fit a longer belt, a lesser amount of material would need to be removed from the crank pulley to raise the gearing enough to acheive the desired result. Due to the rear pulley...

motorised push bikes.

Do you guys get those motorised push bike kits where you are? They're starting to pop up a bit over here. My old man bought an 80cc kit off some guy, and fitted it to my brothers old mountain bike. He had to modify the mount a bit to make it fit the frame. Then he stuck a bike speedo on it. It does ...
