Starter not fully Disengaged

Anyone ever have a problem where their starter does not fully disengage so that the gear rubs against the starter making a slight ringing noise? How do you go about fixing this? This is happening on my SE50 and NH125.

guess it all depends on just how bad the scratches are on the cylinder. if u can hone it, and not actully bore it, u just might be able to re-use the cylinder. the way those pics look to me, is that there was no oil at ALL getting to the piston. I agree that there was no oil getting to it. That is ...

Timing is not adjustable. It is fixed inside the flywheel.

I was planning on just leaving the bearing sit on the crank and when my part is ready (crankcase w/new sleave) pound it gently on there because thats where the bearing is gonna end up anyway regard less if I remove it.

Good idea? not sure ?
Worth a try.

A jaw puller will not work due to how far it is down the crankshaft, the claws will not slide under so you basicly need a bearing puller. I went to the bearing shop and they did not have anything in their library of bearings that would fit my crank , so I went to a machine shop and they are gonna f...

I called the machine shop and they can probably help me with the bearing , but the guy I talked to on the phone said they couldnt remove it , but Ill ask when I bring the motor in , or else I have to go to our local Harbor freight and drop 50 bones for a bearing puller :( You should be able to get ...

Been working on a 1989 sb50p, new piston and rings, running but making a noise that I think is coming from the bearings in the crankshaft. When the piston is down, you can wiggle the flywheel back and forth a little and there's a clicking type noise in there. Wondering if they are easily accessible...

Hopefully the bearing comes off with the case and doesn't stay on the crank. If they do stick to the crank ,cant I just pull them off? my luck they probably will  I checked out the Hayes scooter book a few weeks ago , I will check on what the bearings look like , so I ahve a good idea what to...

Yep, use the two center holes that the cdi/alternator bolted to to pull the case. Thread the nut on the crank about halfway and then pull the case half. This will help you not damage the crank. It should come off fairly easily. Hopefully the bearing comes off with the case and doesn't stay on the cr...

Dude just do it the right way. Get yourself a steering wheel puller (I used a timing gear puller) to pull the flywheel off and to pull the right side of the case off. You won't even need to take the engine off the scooter. If you find a right side case with a good bearing and seal you won't even nee...
