Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
I guess I have a current monopoly on the thread! Not to distract from my original question here is an interesting read. As I ponder how even 100 miles on my NS isn't the most comfortable here is a crazy Canadian that did over 1600 miles in under 33 hours on an NS50F, back when he was a youngster of ...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
I'm thinking maybe that NS50F has MB5 forks and triple clamp (soda/bead blasted bare) mated to a Japan spec wheel and perhaps an aftermarket disc setup? I'll take some measurements and ask some MB5 guys in regards to the top clamp geometry. It would be easy to figure out if I still had my MB5, but i...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
Ok, a quiz for the NS50F experts here! Even though I love my NS sometimes my back tells me a slightly less aggressive handlebar position would be more comfortable. I just ran across this short video showing a highly modded NS with a swapped out triple clamp setup that mounts a standard bar. I sent a...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
I bought a NOS NS50F chain guard last year on Yahoo Japan auction. The trick is you pretty much have to go through an auction broker to get anyone to ship from Japan to the USA. So a middle man company buys in your behalf then ships it to the USA. My $35 chain guard worked out to be about $75 when i...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
A very nice (but optimistically priced) NS50F for sale on CL with all the "Hondaline" options. Has the headlight fairing, both body fairings, tach, and crash bar. I'll admit It seems almost impossible to find these options separately, except for the tach...maybe. Seller says they only made...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
The IRC "Zap" NR53 tires went on quickly without any difficulty, 2.75" x 17 front and rear. I rolled each wheel/tire assembly on a loose axle (with the brake drum pulled) to find the heavy side and it took about 1/2oz to balance the front and 3/4oz for the rear. I first test things wi...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
I decided to try a set of IRC NR53 tires on my NS50F. They should be here tomorrow and size wise I went with a pair of 2.75 x 17. I remember seeing some NR53s on an MB5 a couple years ago and thought they almost look like IRC's copy of the Bridgestone BT39 race tire. I really liked the 18" BT39...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
Nice to see some new members and activity here! I no longer have my MB5 or CB175, but I did keep my favorite.being the NS50F. Thinking of maybe doing True Grits again this year, and I hear Motormike is also already planning on it. My NS50F has now turned over 2,000 miles up from the 800 or so it ...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
Here is another. Stupid price, but stupid condition. Seems if I was looking for a perfect one I'd call the number. Clean!

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
Gear ratio wise I've settled on one tooth larger counter shaft sprocket on both my MB5 and NS50F, running Dream 50 race tires on the MB and stock size Gazelles on the NS. That said I tried 2 teeth higher on the NS50F but it really wouldn't pull it very well slowing the bike down overall except for m...

Re: Does anyone else own a Honda NS 50?
Correct. It appears someone did click the buy it now but then must have backed out because then it was relisted. Now someone clicked on the starting bid of $1500, which made the $2k BIN go away. Time will tell on this one...
