Re: Melt down...
my compression tester don't work right, reads @110 psi but I can't trust it. Back half of fan shroud was a big help... topping out between 290-340deg.
Doing a slow break in...not exceeding 30mph for another 100 miles or so, then I'll see what she can do.

Re: Melt down...
Another update...Installed 3 headgaskets but CHT was climbing to 376 deg within 1/2 mile. never had the left half of fan shroud so I orderd one and installed it. removed oil injector and filled tank with 32:1 honda injector oil. Now after 1 or 2 miles she only gets to 306 deg. Very happy with that. ...

Re: Melt down...
stock head and airbox...airbox has been opened up. the stock head is way to small. your compression ratio will be above 12to1 for sure. add head gaskets to bring that ratio down so you can run that kit on pump gas. what did you open on the air box? doing that will lean out the whole jetting system....

Re: Melt down...
had half a tank of 32:1 premix left so I topped it off with plain gas. Tied oilpump WO. Manual states do not exceed 80% top speed for 600 miles and donot keep a steady speed. If it gets close to 400 deg I'll shut it down, don't want another melt down in the middle of nowhere and freezing temps...lol...

Re: Melt down...
Update on the progress so far. Installed a new 65cc BBK, Trail Tek CHT gauge, reinstalled #88 jet and a Blue LED light bar under front wheel well for added visibility. Seems to be running well. Front wheel stays on the ground but I'm taking it slow till it breaks in...also I reinstalled the oil pump...
