Mine did the same thing, It was the crank bearings. I orderd the bearing from a bearing comany to save $ Got them both for $26.00. it was pretty easy fix.

in the manual section 10-5 in the note, it says to add, but how much ?

well Im hooked, Im rebuilding another spree ! when adding 2 cycle oil to crank case before putting it back togther (as it say to do in the manual) how much ? just kinda wet all the moving Parts ? Thanks Bill

Well I got the thing apart, and took the crank to a honda dealer to get them to pull the bearings off..... and the guy who works on bikes said all the bearings in the crank look great, no need to replace them unless I have $ to blow......
