SPREE TUNING
Well i finally got my spree up and running (thank you taz!) And now im just about done with heat cycling (ive done about 15 at varying temps plan on doing 5 more). So now im getting into tuning. Sounds to me like your belt is slipping or you have a bad clutch. If you say your belt is good no shaving or anything i would inspect your clutch pads. I had a very similar problem were my spree would rev up high and studder at the starts then slip at higher rpm's new clutch fixed it.

leaky oil pump wont cause the carb to be flooded with oil... only oil in the tank will cause that. But the kick smoke you are describing sounds like a leaky pump. Pull the pump and look down the hole if you see oil its leaking.

I dont wish any bad on the ol bear and hope he recovers fully but I left this forum because of him. I recently dropped in and found it a much nicer place.. maybe I will start contributing again. Just have to be respectful and not be thinned skin i understand it hard and bear gave me a bad impressio...
