Re: Elite 80 fails to accelerate
:2thumbs: "showroom condition" 8) makes me salivate... :woot: that seems like the most probable cause, carb junk... or was in gunk? :? It would be one of the first things I'd take a look at. Other suspects could be: plugged exhaust, faulty coil, etc. I'm sure you'll get it up running soon!...

Re: Newbie 1987 Honda Aero 50 in my sights
What does prime dollar means? I just wanted to clarify. Did you mean that it was expensive? That would be my guess. The moped seems to be in really great shape, although that is just cosmetically. I personally look at how it runs mechanically rather than cosmetics although having both is awesome! Tr...

Their website needs to be updated as well.
A lot of the links gave me this error msg: "This webshop does not contain any products now. Please try it again later."
What kind of items did you need to order? (just wondering...)

Re: honda elite cold air intake???
What model of honda elite do you have? What kind of performance upgrades have you done so far? I'm asking because it's easier to help if you give more details. I'd suggest to do the usual upgrades pertaining to your model (usually derestriction, and the use of upgraded and/or aftermarket parts inclu...

Re: Need your opinion Should I sell my Spree & buy an Elite
CNI Dawg, you have a cool Spree. =) For the $150 more, you'd have a lot more options. My Elite E had a similar engine as your Spree and have swapped an early Elite S engine in it along with the Elite S front end too. These changes has improved it's roadside manners tremendously. My vote is for the E...

Re: '94 Elite SR acceleration problem
I would agree with bakaracer as a preliminary diagnosis.
On another note, be sure to check all your lines (i.e. throttle cable, etc.) to make sure everything is connected the way it should be. Sometimes loose connections to the carb makes it act up.

Re: jetting a se50
there is a possibility of the po having replaced the stock carb which would explain the #82 jet. i'd change the rollers/ weights to see if it helps with your acceleration (when was the last time you checked on them?). if rollers/weights doesn't solve your acceleration problem, then start tweaking on...

Re: side stand
i like the idea of a brake lock. a simple velcro strap could do it.
the higher rpm springs would be a better recourse than a carb retune.
One or both of these should solve your current situation.

my apologies too, which is why I edited my original text. we're all just trying to help, I just hope that we would find a solution that would work for you. i just believed there was a better solution then just having to hold your brakes for 3-4 minutes. <the rolling eyes is for me> imo we're ...

Re: side stand
I would like to think that I understood the question. The problem is that the moped wants to start going right after start. The engine does start at a higher rpm when cold then should slow down when the engine gets to its normal operating temperature. My first thought/ question was of a manual or el...
