Re: Why Did Honda Store Sell Me 2 Different Sized Tires ???
I'm with Mike on this one, the slime can do more damage than good if you keep it in there too long. On vehicles it will eat and rot the rim out! Since you have an inner tube, and they are cheap to replace and you go on extended rides, I would probably say use it. I just wouldn't use that inner tube ...

Re: Compression question
If you only had 60 or so PSI you wouldn't even be riding it, I think your tester maybe be busted, or wasn't sealed properly, you may want to try again.

Re: spree headlight and speedo lights just went out
Glad it worked, but regardless, it doesn't hurt to find a proper way to test a component. Have fun on it!

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
Ok that problem seems to be solved. Drained the oil out of the manifold, and cleaned the reeds with some wd40 too. Put it all back together, and it now kicks just fine with the plug in, im getting spark but its not firing up for me. Going to.get a battery tonight to try cranking it with that, but in...

Re: My first Honda Aero: 1984 NH80
My seat lock recently became attached only by the cable today Fain, the guy before me had it jb welded to the plastic handgrip, but that was broke off too. Gonna have to figure something out for that later on. Love the scooter though, looks great, and I'm super jealous all your decals are there, not...

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
Aha.. Sorry, I'm so used to old V8's, this 2 stroke stuff is all new to me. Thanks Bear, this should save me $100, and only cost some time. I know what I'm doing tomorrow, weather permitting, of course.

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
Alright, so here's where I'm at so far. I spent some time trying to siphon, and soak up the oil on top of the piston, but it keeps coming up from the crank. So I'm assuming my oil rings on my piston are bad. Guess I will have to pull the motor and get a kit, if one is available cheap. So more than l...

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
Mine has sat for nearly 6-8 years, so I might have to replace it, one of the few that's gone bad possibly? lol

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
Well, looks like I will have my work cut out for me this weekend.
I can't believe Honda still sells the assembly, that's great. Can't wait to get this started. Thanks again Mike, and Bear!

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
This sounds very plausible, thanks Mike!
EDIT: If that valve is leaking, do I have to replace the whole pump, or that valve?

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
Found this thread here, I will take a look at it tomorrow in the light, and see if I can siphon anything out at first, and try cranking it a few time without the plug to clear it out.

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
So if there is oil in the cylinder it will not crank? How would I go about reversing that?

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
Used the shop manual to find the plug (BPR6HS). It did kick maybe once or twice when I was trying, but I would have to let it sit, after that 1 kick, because it would just stiff up, and not budge after that. Yeah, it spins just fine without my plug in, but once I put it in, I get my compression I'm ...

Re: Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
If I recall it was stiff then, I didn't want to crank it though, as the tank was rusted, petcock was destroyed, and I needed to clean the carb, and replace lines. I just hope I don't have to take this whole motor out.. EDIT: I would be happy if this was just amazing compression, and I am for...

Kickstart won't budge. 84' Aero NH80
Just put my new plug, in after rebuilding the carb. Put fuel in, and filled the oil tank. Tried to kick start it since I don't have a battery until tomorrow, and no dice. It's as stiff as a building support. I didn't want to bust it, so I gave up, but if I have the plug out, I can kick start it just...
