Auuuuuurite.. Well cuttin out the base gasket. Below the "paper" base is a very thin aluminum base gasket. And it has a copper and aluminum head gasket... I know messing the base will mess with port timing. Also Ty swimming free I belive also it was a compression issue along with the other...

To be completely honest no, why ... Cause I started to look deeper before the break down and decided to tear it down I noticed there were leaks on old gaskets so I just tore it down It did have a double base gasket on being paper thin so don't think the port timing to off and two head gaskets..but o...

Properly tuned it should be in the 350-375 range max. Anything above that is bore siezing territory. Running too rich can also make it run hot. If your running the mhr bore without the extra head gasket it can get hot from pre detonation I think I had a predet , when I disassemble today and inspect...
