Re: 85 Aero 50 rings

Yes that is true , I really need to buy a compression tester but I blew all my money on scooters this week 8)
But on the upside, I sold my 84 Aero 80 for $900

Re: 85 Aero 50 rings

Excellent question, Mr. Bear! I just wanted to see for myself the condition of ALL the internal bits as this poor thing hasn't run since the Clinton years :nervous: I really didn't want to start it up only to see it melt down because of something preventable! She's a gem!!!

That's the only thing I've found wrong with it. I pulled the cylinder and a...

Re: 89 Elite SB50 only runs well under load

Sounds like it could be an electrical issue, maybe a weak ground circuit. Have you pulled and cleaned all the various connections in the wiring harness and the ignition module leads? Did you use a new Honda coil or aftermarket? Also pull your ground wires and clean the chassis underneath with a wire...

Re: 84 aero engine swap.

I think Bear ran into a similar problem when he tried to fit an electric-choke NH125 carb to one of his NH80's. Sounds like a longer cable might sort it out, though... Good luck :)

1992 CH80 wheel nut

Does anyone know what the thread pitch is on the rear wheel nut on the Elite 80? I know that its an M14 but I need a die to chase the threads clean before I put a new nut on there. Thanks

head gasket orientation

How does the head gasket install on an 84 Aero 80? Does the domed ridge face up to the head or down on the cylinder? I couldn't see any registration marks and the manual just says "use a new head gasket"... Does it really matter or not?
