Re: honda metropolitan wiring
After LOTS of research, the two mentioned wires plug together. It makes no sense, but apparently they do.

honda metropolitan wiring
Greetings scooterists! I recently aquired a 2008 Honda Metropolitan "basket case". I've got it 85% completed and when wiring the speedometer to the harness, I came across 2 wires coming out of the speedometer that have me stumped. About a 3" green/orange wire with a female bullet conn...

Re: 2007 Honda Metropolitan runs really bad
It doesn't seem like the cooling system is the problem. The radiator and hoses are warm after running for a few minutes and I get a few air bubbles when bleeding the system. Coolant light on speedometer doesn't come on (tested light and it works). After short ride at 25 mph, motor slows to idle and ...

Re: Spree kickstand removal!!?!? Please help!!!
Ahhhh yes, the Spree kickstand removal and reinstall! Usually bloody knuckles and using words not suitable for kids is what happens. Here's what I do. If you have a stand, clamp the front wheel or have someone hold the scooter. With the stand up, remove the cotter key from the right side and slide t...

2007 Honda Metropolitan runs really bad
Picked up a 2007 Honda Metropolitan with 6800 miles,(not a Metropolitan 2), that was stored for 6 years. Has new battery and obviously the carb had to be cleaned and new carb kit and float needle. Starts and idles like new. Everything works. Good throttle response but will not go over 25 mph. When wa...

Re: Request for input - Parts Spree 84/85 vs 86/87 and SB50
While reviewing this site, I came upon the part about crankshaft bearings that anyone rebuilding a 1986/1987 Honda Spree should be aware of. The drive side bearing stated to be a generic 6204 (20x47x14) is too wide. I tried one a few years ago and the cases will NOT come together. The correct bearin...

Re: 1984 Honda Spree wont start
Could be a lot of things.... Is spark plug wet? Check crank seals (left side sometimes comes loose). Does it have compression? Is carb CLEAN? Is air filter in good condition(not crumbly)? Timing correct? It's winter in Minnesota and 2 strokes sometimes don't run in the cold weather. How warm is it w...

Re: 1990 Elite LX 50 (SA50) grinding sound
Greetings: Vise Grips could conceivably damage the drive face. Pick up THIS. You can get it much cheaper if you shop. The pins lock the clutch too. Excellent tool for clutch, drive pulley, flywheel, etc. I've had one for years. One thing about buying tools...You usually forget how much you pay for ...

You shouldn't need locktite if you torque the nut down to 30 ft/lbs.

Re: Where to find replacement steering bearings
I use Kenda 2.50x10 tires from J&PCycles. They're the cheapest I can find. Less than $20 each tax included and shipping is free if you order more than $39. They have a lot of good stuff! Those bearings can get lost pretty easy. If you lose any, I can send you some. 26 in the bottom race and 26 i...
