Re: An Open Letter to Would-Be Builders

Truth is spoken here. I still am a noob. Fortunately, a slightly older noob, with all new problems... but I can see the need for time in all good things. Excellent post, and I especially liked these words at the end: If at first you don't succeed Rome wasn't built in a day when the tough get going f...

Re: sad day in scooter land

I add my sympathies. a sick scooter is a hard thing to cope with. mine was pure joy for the fist month... now, it is sitting for the 3rd month now, waiting for a devine intervention. Talk to bear directly. He is the guru here, imho.

Re: Is the dio/oko kit for Aero80 from Taz still available?

will do. I am planning on contacting Taz when I have around $200
unspoken for. I also am trying to pay off a truck and move soon and my
carbine project as well. Sometime in this next 2 months hopefully.

Is the dio/oko kit for Aero80 from Taz still available?

Bear is looking at my stock carb which I'll want as a fallback if I have issues later, and will use until finances permit buying such a kit or the parts by myself. The title says it all really. Is this "kit" I see spoken of still available? As of February it was posted as costing @$140 wit...

Re: Roller weights: grease or no grease?

I have read much and the concensus is varied. Double-checking that what I see is still true: 1)about half of you run dry roller weights 2)about 1/4 run a sheen of light grease on the ramp plate like the manual says to do 3)the remainder grease the **** out of everything but the pulleys like Honda l...

Re: Picture of kick start gears

Anyone have a picture of the correct relationship of the kick start gears. I get them to work a few kicks and then the pedal just spin drops (gear teeth disengage) I know I'm only off by a little. A picture of the correct alignment would be very helpful. BTW, this is a 1983 Urban Express (Nu50) I w...

Re: Urbane express lacks power, shuts down

!983 urbane express in neglected shape, but purchased by friend anyway. The problem is getting it started and to continue running. I checked compression with the Pep Boys cheap kit and got only 75 lbs. using kick starter. Don't know if this is accurate. Another thing was finding oily, greasy sludge...

Re: New member section?

that's the wierd thing. replacement rollers are listed as 16, but honda direct lists them at 21. I am confused myself, as I had seen the info of 16 gram before. I have the same ones listed and am tempted to weigh them myself. I am at a loss to what else to do. I am carbless as of tonight. I have a c...

Re: New member section?

pulling together an idea that might end up doing what I need without getting too wild. bear mentioned this: The '83 and '84 Aero 80 came with an 88 main jet, which was EPA lean. A 90 main jet cures this. You can replace the stock reeds with some Boyesen dual stage reeds #740. They will improve the o...
