Re: Flash 5 Rises Like a Phoenix from the Ashes of F3

Wheelman, I too had the same concerns about high compression. Our fuel grades are 87 reg 89 mid and 91 prem. I believe my Malossi kit was rated at 12.8:1......far too high for regular. I ended up cutting my own base gasket that is about 3 times the thickness as the green one included in the kit. I k...

Re: New guy to the board....

Thanks.

It still runs great. Smooth right up to 65 kph. With the larger then factory tires, the speedo is actually dead on now (verified with 2 gps units). The acceleration is outstanding.....but the smooth ride of the Kymco has me riding that one more.

Re: New guy to the board....

Got it running Thursday night! I did have to weld up the crank on one side and grind it down (bearing spun) Heat cycled it a couple times, and took it out for a spin. Good thing I live in the country, lots of backwoods to scoot around on. It starts instantly, runs great, throttle is responsive.....I...

Re: New guy to the board....

Got a couple final drive bearings out and cleaned the inside of the case. Painted and mounted a cargo box off an old electric scooter I dismantled. Otherwise, just waiting for the postman. Found some like new Duro 3.50 tires. Granted, I have new 3.00's on both ends of my scoot, but getting some gear...

Re: New guy to the board....

Just placed an order with powersportsplus. All the bearings and seals and a belt for good measure.
Sooooo tempted to buy body panels, can't believe they are available.

Re: New guy to the board....

Thanks guys...... I've ordered a Malossi kit from redeft and been tinkering on it in the evenings. Got some wires soldered up and the electric start now works. Well, it cranks....we'll leave the running part until later lol I thought turning the back wheel seemed a bit rough, so I dug into the final...

New guy to the board....

Hello all,

I just picked up a 1990 SA50 for next to nothing that had a circlip pop out. I've spent quite a few hours on here already looking up info.....great site!

Looking forward to hanging out here and getting this little buzzbomb running sooner than later.
